A lot depends on the traffic condition.

In rainy or days with heavy traffic, I get 10km/l.

Caltex95 , tyre pressure 220.

Example : Last night I clocked 22.7km/l on the 20km on highway drive.

Then, after highway, the last 1km got 2-3 traffic lights, speed humps and MSCP, FC dropped 21km/l.

maths gives the last 1km's FC is about 8km/l.

so if always driving in the neighbourhood, low FC expected. nothing wrong.

I am curious what FC you getting for Caltex.

I am also experimenting on my family Altis. 1st tank using SPC 98 - getting 14+ km/l. 2nd tank using SPC 95 - also getting 14+ km/l. Driving at 80% highway, 20% city. Since I don't find any diff between 98 and 95, decide to stick with SPC 95.

Have you log in any test drive with BM? If yes, I suggest you go with the SE who served you, to be fair lah.

They used to give 2K discount for trade in, not sure about their latest promo.

I recently accidently reset my FC when in town. I drove around in the city to fetch my wife (aro 5km). The fc shows 7.8km/h. Once i hit highway (25km) during the peak hours, FC shoot to 14.9. Upon exit highway and use small road to home, it shows 14.6.

Next morning, 10min drive before hit highway, FC 14.1. Upon hitting highway, it went up to 15.4.

Perhaps you can consider to try other brands of petrol since SPC98 = SPC95 for you..

Eh... for new car, give it time some time to run in.

Your tyres are not optimised for rainy days. [cool]

I recall doing a comparison, Google Map vs Altis GPS.

Altis GPS pro(s)

- lock to satellite quicker

- give navigation instructions earlier

- give visual and voice lane instructions

The biggest con is the map gets outdated and the update is costly at about $150.

This is a rip off for a update of map only for Singapore and Malaysia.

To all altis bros who have collected your car. Please take note that your car battery is the liquid type not maintenance free type. Thanks.

How to maintain this sort of car battery? Can advice?

How to maintain this sort of car battery? Can advice?

Monthly

1.  Ensure battery top is clean

2.  Vent caps not clogged

3.  Check and top up battery water if necessary.

trade in discount is just a marketing gimmick by offering you a pretty low trade in price then tell you got additional discount so it's the same.

Maybe they offer you 10k for your car and then tell you because of the additional 2k discount means your car is worth 12k. If you check out the market, Maybe your car is worth 17k if you sell it yourself.

What the difference between elegance and standard model?

My tyres are compromised for dry and wet conditions. [laugh]

I think if you drive your car slowly. What kind of Tyre also don't make much of a difference.

I got a friend who always Harp on importance of a wet weather Tyre. He may not be wrong and may be he has bad experience with normal Tyre.

I think with his constant driving of higher speed, he needs it more.

You are spot on.

For how I drive, hardly the tyres are working near it's limits - 90km/l dry and slower in wet.

Corolla is not a sports car.

Rim size diff between elegance 17" and classic 16" afaik.

I prefer smaller rims for comfort actually. Appearance is secondary.

Save the money for my retirement instead.

and enjoy the current setup and drive easy.  [drivingcar]
