For BHP, it is not possible as the simple equation of HP is rpm x Torque.

So you need RPM to have higher BHP.

seriously, it is a 'want' question being kiasu. I hardly will be driving my car at rev that delivers 121bhp today or ever. A more practical "want" is high bhp & torque delivery < 2000rpm but then there are physics of engine we cannot circumvent.

yes, and skill also. For example one needs to have good control of the accelerator to reverse park uphill (and clutch if on manual gb last time).

Just to share,

I recently changed to a set of Michelin PS4 205/55r16 94W and at the same time, installed Steelmate TP-77i.

That was after much consideration and deliberation, to deviate from the original 91V to 94W. 

 

The PS4 at recommended pressure of 220/210 (91V)  has too much bounce while the steering was precise. 

Taking into account of the deviation,  the pressure was adjusted to 210/200.  The bounce was greatly reduced and the grip was top notch.

How much u pay 4 the tyres? I went to BM as they sent me a letter telling me tyre promotion 50th Ann. THey quote me S$750 for Michelin XM2 16". Claim that original price is S$1400.

I think that's very rude for the service advisor. But they pester me to sign on their service package. BM said that I will get 20% off for future serving after my guarantee expires.

 

Somehow for my purchase only 1 year free service (bad timing to purchase, the months before and after mine got 3 years free svc). 

 

i calculated that if I keep my car for at least until end of the 5th year, then it break even between the package sign up and the savings. I kept my last car until 9.5yr and also think i will keep my altis as long as it last, then it made sense for me to sign up for the package.

 

i had services outside before and sometimes the quality of the job done can vary. 

thus i intend to stay with BM for the services.

the discussion pointed to smaller rims => less weight.

 

anyone tried switching from 17" or 16" to 15" and witness the fuel saving?

what is the cost if to get equivalent of PS3 at 15" (is it even available)?

 

I actually wanted smaller rims from day 1 for  (expected) lower tyre cost

and by now I already scratched all of them.....

 

 

Next 5k you use again. See still have the placebo effect or not ?

traffic condition plays a bit part so I cannot be sure if it is the concentrate that made the diff.

 

I am ~90% on hwy and I leave home early (7am) and leave work at 7pm, so avoided a bit the peak traffic. This helped me to achieve a fc figure higher than the stated 16.4km/litre.

 

from what I recall (before concentrate the best run from work to home was ~21km/litre.

it was one of those CNY or PH days when no one was one the road.

Same applies to inflate above/at/below recommended psi.

 

additional, low psi / more contact patch = more heat generated due to friction, can cause overheat / huge psi increase and destroy the tyre with prolong highspeed long (hwy) travel. Probably not the sort of SGP distance but in Europe / US I suppose.

Hmm....  it just occurred to me that perhaps nitrogen filled now maybe suitable for me !   Let me go think about it.

Indeed heard several N2 is better in this regards.

 

Mine only did 15k still a Long way to go. Also make sure do 5 tyre rotation.so 8 expect still at least 40k to go.

 

Tyre rubber hardens over time.

the spare tyre will become useless if just left unused for a few years n still need to replace it. If don't drive to Malaysia often then consider the repair kit instead to reduce weight n the cost of spare tyre.

 

I like the PS3 so far. A bit noisy but still bearable for Now.

I also experience roughly .5 -.6 improvement in FC. Not great but  I use it mainly for the smoothness of the car .

 

That is still great FC u have there. I am still struck with 15-15.4km/l. Although I travel 40km in the morning & 30++ km in the evening, the stops I make in between the journey just kill my FC.

 

The best I I ever do during the school holidays and I do not need to fetch wife and kids for 2 days is 21.5km/hr. Left home 7am and go home @ 4:30pm.
