It's good that you finally found the car of your dreams. Now, don't go walking elsewhere, and think about should I have bought that or that..

Instead focus on what this car is good at:

Amazing power & pickup

Solid build

Sure footed and it will encourage you to go into M'sia and eat more mud

Roomy

Reliable Japanese build

Solid value

Good luck bro

haaa thanks bro... have not decide yet.... just read got bro say in S'pore, no need waste $$$$, just get a 2 wheel drive, no need for AWD... haaaa.... anyway, to have more spare $$$.... NA will make $$$ sense, but then, I may end up telling myself why I didnt buy the XT... :a-bang:  haaa...... if I decide to go for it, MI need to offer a better deal...  [:p]

Anyway, today I test drive the XT, the features are diff from what I saw nearly 1 year back.... last time, not only is it more ex, it does not have some featuresf..... now they do.... make it even sweeter....

looks like it is time to head back to MI this weekend for another test drive on the FXT. But last weekend i just dropped by and see see look look. I managed to go in and out un-noticed. No one came to entertain me at all. Hehe.

Everyone seems busy...

Best to have a SE contact before u go... arrange a timing and you will be serve.... last time I cold call also like that.... stand there 1 hr also no one hiew..... same for some other brand as well..... but ever since I contact the the SE to arrange viewing, I am serve everytime I step in to a showroom.

The air-conditioned is powerful enough for the rear.

Noted Bro

Head telling me Madza 5 cause lower cost.... heart telling me XT cause better car overall.....  [shakehead]  [knife]

Basket just now at the showroom, met one Bro... he order the XT as well...... told me straight no need think just buy, very good car, good value.... haaaa..........

You want a higher trade in, reliable and turbo charged?

B Class...

10k net more than the FXT.

If not, I suggest you stick to the FXT. Good car for it's price.

Turbocharged

I dutifully went to take another look at the Ford Kuga. It doesn't appeal to me, unfortunately, American or not. :) But it does seem to sport some impressive specs for a 1.5l engine.

Anyway, haha okay I'll be sure to shout out loud when the time comes!

Before I got my FXT, the Ford Kuga was one of my top choices:

The car looked small from the outside, but actually has decent interior space which is slightly smaller than the FXT. The boot however is bigger than the Forester by volume. Other nifty features includes factory leather, auto tailgate sensor, self-parking function, adaptive cruise control, proximity sensors, huge double panel sunroof, ambient lightings, powerful in-car computer, sony sound system and a competent 1.5 Ecoboost engine with AWD.

I did a quick test drive. The engine was able to adequately move the heavy body of the Kuga fairly quick like a mid-size sedan and ride comfort is commendable. However I recall the handling to be akin to a hippo. unlike Subaru, the AWD is adaptive and will run mostly on FWD and detects the road to decide whether to switch to full-time AWD. This feature helps in FC on urban conditions.

One of the bear bug of the Kuga that bothers me is the uncompetitive price of the titanium series, lacking of local fanbase and resale value. That stopped me on the track, esp the price which is 15k more than the FXT that time.

-------------------

In retrospective, I chanced upon the Kuga again at one of Ford's roadshow and took a second glimpse of the SUV. Having owned the FXT for more than a year I dare to say all the honeymoon good feelings you have for the FXT is gone.

But surprisingly after sitting in the cabin of the Kuga, I still prefer my FXT. Some of the things We took for granted in the Forester are the Steering Design, paddle shifters, metal pedals, the no-nonsense dashboard with console info screen and touchscreen HU, the Kuga is load with buttons an actually looked messy and claustrophobic.

Plus the boxy manly exterior of the Forester still projects the rugged feel of the Forester unlike the Kuga which goes by the sleek boyish look.

So after this 1+ year , yeah! Still no regrets on the FXT.

You got a FXT for 122?? Good price.

Isn't a FXT 127 or higher?

After the trade of your car, it can be much lower. That includes the price of your car of course..

Anyways, they have very good trade ins. OT... sorry

Stick to the FXT.

Turbocharged

Someone asked how moddable is the FXT.

It's a Subaru. LOL

Apart from cosmestics from Taobao, japanpart.com or MI. Some of the mods owners here did are:

- BBK (big brake kit) with Rim upsize/upgrade.

- Stainless steel braided brake hose for more linear braking

- various Anti-Roll bars and braces from major 3rd party makers, Whiteline, cusco, etc

- Exhaust mufflers, HKS & Nvidia

- Intake system, CAI, Open Pod, BOV, drop-in

- Tuning with direct ECU reflash, up to 300bhp and 400nm, don't bother piggyback like racechip or rschip, Subaru let you play (but MI voids, LOL)

- coilovers, springs from various 3rd party makers

Your wallet, warranty and OC approval's the limit.

Bro if you can score the FXT for 122k, that's brilliant. MTL bro..

That's about 5k or more less than the usual posted price. You can't really squeeze too hard, or you may run into the COE game.. good deal indeed.
