mrhan1982 4th Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 Bro i family of 4, 2 young kid. Occasionally my in laws will travel with us. So total 4 adults include me and 2 kids, that's why initially looking at MPV. But agree Mid size MPV 3rd row cmi and not safe for young kids. End up actually only 2 rows of seats will be use. I like the big boot space though. Large size MPV out of budget. So next option look for large SUV like the forester.Actually I got 2 more adults (mom and bro) which I excluded lol. The solution is let them settle for own transport (e.g. Bro go get his own car). Unless I drive a mini van, dun think I can fit 5 adults and 2 infants safely in any SUV or mpv. ↡ Advertisement
Shox87 4th Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 showroom la.. go see... Can consider buying 1 five yo FXT and 1 five yo masada 5 235k for new macan i dun think its possible unless w/o COE. used 2015 2.0 is asking for 245k. New would probably be touching 290k at least. kermitfm 4th Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 (edited) Macan price stated is without COE. how can the macan be priced similar to its "lesser" sibling (Q5)? Correct. The host of this forum, sgcarmart has the price list. The lowest cost option is the PDK 2.0A going for $230,088 without COE. Mind you two cars mean you gotta deal with twice as much parking fees and petrol etc. It's really possible with 8 seaters, but they have to be really the big kind of MPVs. Anyone really taken their Forester off the asphalt/tarmac yet?
JuzFXT 2nd Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 Someone asked how moddable is the FXT. It's a Subaru. LOL Apart from cosmestics from Taobao, japanpart.com or MI. Some of the mods owners here did are: - BBK (big brake kit) with Rim upsize/upgrade. - Stainless steel braided brake hose for more linear braking - various Anti-Roll bars and braces from major 3rd party makers, Whiteline, cusco, etc - Exhaust mufflers, HKS & Nvidia - Intake system, CAI, Open Pod, BOV, drop-in - Tuning with direct ECU reflash, up to 300bhp and 400nm, don't bother piggyback like racechip or rschip, Subaru let you play (but MI voids, LOL) - coilovers, springs from various 3rd party makers Your wallet, warranty and OC approval's the limit. Want to praise but can't cause I praise u too much ;) just ask them just the whatsapp group and they will be poisoned by all the group buy~
milynot 1st Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 I've 5 in my family so the fxt makes perfect sense for me. 2 are infants and the 2 large size baby seats fit nicely at the back with sufficient space for my helper to sit in the middle. I also have 2 large single strollers, 1 grocery trolley and other stuff in the boot as well. Lol. oh...is the back big enough to sit a helper with 2 baby seats at each side? this will be my ideal seat configuration if it works. i always find middle too small to sit an adult if there are 2 baby seats at each side. CuriousaboutCEVS Clutched October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 For those of you taking the plunge soon, any thoughts on the decrease COE quotas? Do you think the economy is weak so demand is not that high or do you expect increases in the Coe prices due to the decrease? Just wondering how you guys are predicting the movements for your upcoming purchase! Or would you say just buy it now if you comfortable with the offer? My helper is slim luckily. Baby seats are the can rotate 360 degrees type so it's easy for her to enter. For those of you taking the plunge soon, any thoughts on the decrease COE quotas? therock Supersonic October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 122k is a brilliant price, especially since they are willing to bid a realistic price. I sat in middle of the back. Definitely spacious enough unless you have a chubby helper :)

Just wondering how you guys are predicting the movements for your upcoming purchase! Or would you say just buy it now if you comfortable with the offer?I think mix feeling of purchase. Those ready with cash might just rush in now. Like the last loan adjustment. Then it will lead to price up of Coe. If market is so bad... All might just play the waiting game. But being a Singaporean, I think most can't wait so there might be a mad rush... I think government is trying to maintain the COE price. I gave up waiting for the price to fall... Last Dec 50plus k and now also hover ard the same. Went in during the pre loan adjustment which is around this price for the car. Hence, I think for fxt $122k is not bad. U can try wait for it to drop to feb price which some of the bro got it at a fantastic price $112k or lower?
Sarion 4th Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 the new Kuga is not in Singapore yet, the current one from Regent is aged now... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ------------------- In retrospective, I chanced upon the Kuga again at one of Ford's roadshow and took a second glimpse of the SUV. Having owned the FXT for more than a year I dare to say all the honeymoon good feelings you have for the FXT is gone. But surprisingly after sitting in the cabin of the Kuga, I still prefer my FXT. Some of the things We took for granted in the Forester are the Steering Design, paddle shifters, metal pedals, the no-nonsense dashboard with console info screen and touchscreen HU, the Kuga is load with buttons an actually looked messy and claustrophobic. Plus the boxy manly exterior of the Forester still projects the rugged feel of the Forester unlike the Kuga which goes by the sleek boyish look. So after this 1+ year , yeah! Still no regrets on the FXT.

Sarion 4th Gear October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 There are two different views of the Forester which I read in the forums. In this forum, there are quite a lot of discussion on the FC and how bad (or acceptable) it is. In the European, American and Australian forums, it is about how versatile the Forester is compared to the competition. I attribute this to how we look at the Forester. >>>>>>>>> we must remember that the USA and Australian versions has Eyesight and lots more goodie safety functions similar to JDM, maybe even more (e.g. US version has SatNav and anti-glare mirrors). the Europeans have diesel version. and they have higher chance of taking an SUV offroad to their Yosemite or GrandCanyon or Arches National Parks. In Singapore? Bishan Park? East Coast Park? or maybe the grass verge at Rider's Café parking? another possibility could be they are living in suburbs that really need to travel on dirt roads to reach their ranch/farmhouse etc. the only farms we go to here is probably durian farms across the causeway or animal farms in PasirRis/Sungei Buloh... so being able to travel well off-road is a true consideration for versatility for them but not really for our local context. and in USA, c'mon gas is so freaking cheap. who the heck buying an SUV there really cares about FC?
