The new Kuga is a facelift of the current one. If you look at the pics the chassis is the same and the interior hasn't change much apart from the steering. Hope regent will bring in the large touchscreen hu this time instead of the tiny one on current titanium series...

Applies for cars with expiring coe too. MI quoted me a ridiculous paper value for trade-in, even though I still have a few more months of coe to go. I might as well drive all the way till the end and scrap it myself. Can probably get 1k+ from the scrap metal which makes up for the 2k offer from MI.

This doesn't quite make sense right? Shouldn't the car price go up only after the new coe price comes out?

e.g. saw that the Levorg has the HighBeam assist and auto-dim mirror, Legacy has HighBeam assist with auto-dim mirror, rear traffic warning, blind spot warning.

all these are JDM Forester standard features for XT and I think also 2.0i Premium, but what do they offer customers here?

zilt.... nothing.... not even as options when I have the moolah to pay...

and all still missing my favorite Eyesight...

 

let's hope some other Japan/Korean brands beat Subaru in bringing in autonomous braking feature first, then Glenn Tan cannot brag anymore if or when they bring in Eyesight.

That's why some Asian car companies still get away with less or no airbags at all, and dealers bringing in their cars take out the safety features.

Because we don't protest. We rather have leather seats instead of airbags, more service credit instead of collision warning etc

 

Unless we vote with our wallets for such things, they will try and reduce the OMV by omitting all kinds of safety features. Just my 2c.. cheers

To me safety items that are must are at least 6 airbag, abs, traction control etc..... I don't even consider the car if it don't have this safety features.. And the FXT tick all the safety features that I want.

 

All this blind spot detection are just fancy things to have, I had been driving for 27 yrs. Turning my head to check blind spot is not difficult, keeping a safe distant and no road hogging is also not difficult.

Those who will vote with their chequebooks for such features include those with neck problems. Fortunately you are not one who suffers from such ailments.

 

On the other hand, I would say I would just feel a little bit more reassured if that person tail gating me has an EyeSight-like feature in their car.

And just today, without BLIS, I wouldn't have known this blardy night rider was in my right side. Virtually invisible in my mirror even.

I book the FNA at end May, they took in my Lancer 1.5EX (COE end Mar2018) at S$22K, collected FNA end Aug and hand in the EX. Only in mid Sep ( 2 weeks after they took the EX) then only I saw on sgcarmart posting at S$25,800. By Oct only saw the EX was sold.

 

So if they sold it at $25K - $22K = $3K profit for them. but if I sell it myself will be more hassle.

 

Plus Minus it come to square one and I have car to use until I collect FNA.

 

As for me I'm happy to trade in to MI.

Most accidents involve 2 cars. You don't have to be a bad driver to get banged.

This has been discussed to death. :) I say don't count on it, unless you want to drive like you bought an FNA. In fact, even FNA will struggle to hit 11km/l.

 

If you are concerned about FC, forester should be struck out of your list right away.

Several pages ago @Pocus said expect 6.8 ~ 8.1 in city at best. 11km/l in start/stop/crawl city driving is the territory of 1.2L cars that weigh 400 kg less than FXT.
