Just had my 10K servicing with motel 10w up to 40w ( on advise by SE ) for FXT. Top up fuel tank with Shell 98 and start monitoring FC with this new status .

For the 1st 60 km travelled with 95% highway and 5 % city drive , my fxt surprisingly managed around 15km per litre.

Subsequently , with up to 150km clocked ...and now about 50% highway and 50% deadbeat slow traffic in neighbourhood estates , FC was around 11.4km/ litre.

Seems like pretty good improvement in FC if u use motul combined with 98 fuel. Another sense is that if u drive with smooth quick acceleration, the car gives u better FC . Noticed also 98 fuel give the Forester a smoother and quieter ride even perhaps quicker pick up.

Very possible that the drive will feel smoother when using higher octane petrol. Modern car engines are fitted with octane sensor to adjust the ignition timing of the engine depending on the octane used. This allows the engine to use cheaper lower octane petrol although this will mean lower power output. The FXT engine will definitely benefit from higher octane petrol.

I found this to be true in the cars with the different cars I have driven over the years. Before I found out about this, I thought it was just a psychological effect when I felt that my car performs better and have better FC with higher octane petrol.

Yeah, this was wat I was talking about. Motul plus 98 fuel is gold... small investment big rewards. Been using this combo since 5k servicing. Now 26k and going strong..

It was already confirm by a few owners who did dyno test between 95 and 98 fuel, the different on wheel horse power on dyno. 98 petrol is 20+HP more.

Hi, it's about SGD$34 with shipping for the boot mat.

Nice, was searching for it too. So the cost for this is around $30+ and another $30+ for shipping?

My car increased by 13% on the average. LL loh...

Edit: should be 18% increase considering now need to pay transmission fluid separately.

Worst than gahmen GST

Sell more forester causing servicing overload... but selling more forester they should use their added profit to cover the servicing load. Why should they pass on the burden to consumer? Shouldn't they be making their process more efficient or be more productive? Forget it man. Economics, demand and supply. To keep the warranty, just have to pay.

Hi guys, I'm planning to buy a FXT.

Should I buy now or wait a while for the COE to drop?

Advice please.

Thank you.

Who knows? No one can tell you COE up or down.

If u need a car and u can pay for it after factor in all expenditures, go for it.

I have another car to drive in the mean time, so contemplating if I should wait or buy the FXT now. One consideration is the upcoming VES in 2018.

100k i think is old schedule

50k is new schedule.

For CVT. This is better.

I had been in doubt on ghetto original 100k schedule.

Levorg, fna and fxt servicing cost all about the same???

Does this means it's most wuhua to service fxt with mi?

I bought the 2 yr package before the new price list kicked in. How ah? That time was $1.2k after $100 duo points deduction.

Changed at autobacs bro. Wide selection of horns for u to test before deciding.

Thinking of replacing the car horn for my Forester. Appreciate your feedback on the Stebel T80 that u installed. How does it compared with the stock horn? Any idea where in the engine compartment autobac place the duo horns. Also not clear about need for relay switch with installation or not. Thanks in advance
