If the auto closing of the boot doesn't work for whatever reason, just close it manually. Similarly, the auto boot can open manually as well. Just press and hold the boot open button for 2-3 secs.

I tried the auto boot close and it is not working. It closed then open by itself again, SE also can't get it to work. Tried another Forester in the showroom, that one also doesn't work.......

Maybe you can try this.

Turn off your boot memory.

Manually open the boot by pressing down 3-4 secs.

then manually close your boot slowly until you hear a first click (boot is catch) and let go.

You should hear and see the boot closes further and lock.

Then try the auto open and auto close.

Need advice on where I can get the module for side mirror auto fold when lock car with installation. Thanks.

MI has this option when you send your car for servicing for S$150 (excluding GST). I did mine at MI during my 1st servicing

I think you can get outside for around S$80 but if done outside it may void warranty.

or any outside WS can do that, what price?

I messaged the SE yesterday and asked about the new facelift, he just replied me that there won't be any changes currently. I am not in hurry to change car till 2017 so I will wait and see.

Anyway, how often will a car model change it's design (not facelift but a total change in the design)? 5 years? This current Forester was launched in 2014 right?

I believe Forester was launched in 2013 and facelifted in May 2015.

Facelifts usually happen once every two or three years, sometimes there's even a yearly refresh.

Thanks for the advice bro. I asked my SE if MI does this but he told me no. Either he really has no idea since he is just doing sales or he scared I pester him to throw in as part of the new car purchase.

Someone timed it with GPS and stopwatch, normal I mode will get you around 7.5 to 8.5secs, S mode can get you as fast as 6.8sec.

Depends on road conditions and other factors I guessed.

No worries, I guess they know the features of the car but not the after sales stuff. :)

During your 1st servicing, you will be presented with a list of add ons in an A4 paper :)

I did the test in S# mode, 1st time 7.3s, 2nd time 7.8s,

one guy stand 500m away to start/stop stopwatch as per my high beam instruction,

1st time used launch start, 2nd time normal start,

after 2 test, oil temperature up to 110 degree C, scared to do more, Ambient temperature about 37 degree,

normally official test result should be at 0 altitude and 15 degree,

in Singapore Ambient temperature is a main factor to effect the result
