Audio shop should have rubber noise insulation seal for the door..

Ohh...?  Ok will go my usual installer there to enquire...but its a shame that brand new car with brand new door seals also have such wind noise...probably its the design which's a little inferior to most conti-cars which has good sound insulation all round the car...hope Subaru can spend a little more time to improve on such small areas...

Sighhhh...completed my 1st full tank today, & it was 7.2km/l...total mileage clocked from 1st full tank, until fuel indicator reached only 1-bar left, was 367km; thereafter went straight to pump petrol to full tank, about 51 litres of petrol...which gives me 7.2km/l....I did not even turned on "S" mode, & always kept my foot pedal below 20% all the time while driving, & rpm never reaches above 2,000rpm...see pic below on the foot pedal %.

attachicon.gifpic1.jpg

Anyway, this fc is still soooooo much better than my '07 2.5L LGTW haha...but was expecting that it could be better with the new engine, & 2.0L, & CVT, & so on...anyway, can't expect good fc from Subarus especially turbo haha...

Wish I can get close to 10km/l man...

oh yah...to add on, perhaps my driving was maybe 80% city, 20% highway...? This could be the main cause of the high fc though....

Wow that's really bad! So far I haven't hit so low yet, my worst is 8km/l where I did mostly short trips and played a lot of s and s# mode. Did you leave your car idling a lot?

I always felt too light foot not necessary give you better FC. Because it take a long time to reach the cruising speed.

I believe in moderate to fast accelerate to the cruising speed, which car had reach top gear and lowest rpm. That will give you better FC.

I am not driving the XT yet, my current car I had a Pivot 3 Drive Throttle controller installed. I am using sport mode and set to sport 7 (max setting). i am getting same FC as using normal mode. With sport 7 mode, I am able to get faster throttle response.

Hmm...perhaps I did idle the car a little more for the 1st few days...to learn the interior & the HU...but guess never idle for more than 30mins, 2 days max at most..?

I also understand that the engine oil I hear for the car now is standard mineral oil right..? If yes, maybe it'll worsen the fc a bit, until MI will change to synthetic oil for he 1st 1,000km servicing..?

The city and highway % does mean a lot. Plus maybe it takes sometime after a few tanks for the corr ft figures to show. I basically hit 11.5k/L after 4th tank with 80%HW

Don't judge based on the % of the accelerator, use the instantaneous FC readout.

This one will tell you if you are wasting fuel at that point of time while you drive, then you adjust accordingly.

low % acceleration may not pull enough power to move the heavy chassis. No momentum will eat fuel more.

Better to step more to get momentum and save more fuel.

I know why your FC so high, your A/C temperature set too low, 20 degree only,

I sit my friend's FXT set to 26 degree also feel too cold sometimes

FXT? I get frequently told that turbos need to be treated somewhat differently, climb the gears fast as possible rather than go light footed. Light footed use more petrol. So I guess, you need to be a bit heavier footed? [dizzy]

During the initial phase with my new car (not FXT, but also similar 2.0L turbo with 240hp) I also got around 7.5km/l at best on average. Like you I had a lot of city driving.

80% city driving confirm jiak you eh..

my 316i say until very fuel efficient, once do city driving.. can do 10km/l only

Supposed to be 15km/l engine lo.. hahaha

but different story when going on highway cruising

As far as I know.. The engine oil is synthetic from the get-go. :)

Neutral Newbie

Anyone recently signed up, I am planning to do so this weekend for the FXT.

Just checking to see what else I can squeeze. I read that some got front and back camera.

Is it worth to ask for the 60K or 3 year servicing package?

CEO drop but price no change...Sianzzz

When I first used the Shell 95 I got average around 12 points but later change to Shell 98 I got average 10.6

The default is "I" mode.

Sporty modes are "s" mode and "s#" mode.

There's a debate which mode offers the most balance drive in terms of economy and power. For mostly highway driving s# mode may be better, for mostly city driving i mode is still the way to go.
