Came back from BKS AMK, installed the STI rear ARB during lunch, below are my reviews when on my way back to office;

  • Got my FNA closed to 5 months, before install the rear ARB, I have no idea what other Forester bros comments about bouncy feeling, discomfort on body roll, jittery, floating, hard or harsh, etc like Richard mentioned earlier. After installed, finally I understand that how it feel now!! Basically, very simple, the rear ARB will let you feel less bouncy, feel your ride more on the ground, even you drive a SUV but feel like a Sedan car on road.
  • See the stock ARB 16mm vs STI ARB 20mm from the picture as attached, believe most of us can't really see the different or not much different for the size because really can't see much diff..haha.. But the 4mm different really can feel on the road man! [drivingcar] I think I would support Richard analyze earlier, maybe Cusco 20mm can provide even solid and better feel than STI rear ARB for FNA or maybe STI spring upgrade to let you feel even more on the ground like Sedan?
  • If you are new, suggest maybe you drive a while for your ride, feel the current ride for sometime and upgrade it later. Unless you can feel the immediate impact or discomfort now, for me I am ok for the past, now i can even enjoy this comfort ride from now.... [:)]
  • For the STI rear ARB, BKS no more stock and Lesun also no stock (last set i bought yesterday liao [:p] ) Only MI available, but price slight expensive ard S$30-S$40 more. Initially I placed my order from MI but not collect yet, till bro Zpliu and Richard recommended me try Lesun which help me save some $$$ more or less save my installation costs. :a-nicethread:
  • For Cusco rear ARB, you can buy from japanparts.com, cost abt S$200+shipping ard S$100, total cost abt S$300, can go BKS for installation at S$32.10 nett. Otherwise, can try check with BKS or yahoo japan reseller, check with Richard how to go, cos i have not order from them before.
My conclusion is cheap and good upgrade for this STI rear ARB, feel comfortable than before, enjoy my ride now. Look forward my Cusco struct front tower bar estimated to be delivered to me next week from japanparts, com, let me check it out and feel what is the further improvement? [smash]

Thanks Richard and Zpliu info. [thumbsup]

Hi Titanic,

Guaranteed one as long as you feel ride not notably harder or more harsh which I believe it is fine with missed subframe, lower spring rate or spring that are not stiff like fxt and 17" stock with more rubber.

Cheers,

Richard

Wow..... good price if can fit.

I tried to check japanparts.com, the Cusco front and rear ARB for subaru got diff part numbers, so need to check the part number first. Meanwhile, I saw my order front strut bar status change to shipped from warehouse.... [cool]

Btw, the same seller from carousell also selling his front Cusco Strut Bar.....

Hi MQX,

All forester owners and I can appreciate the differences between them to perhaps share a bit .. keke !

Hi Cal,

Yes .. especially the fxt with its stiffer suspension and 18" hence positive impact of the sti flexible subframe.

One kaki sold his <1 yr old fxt few mths back cos wife felt sick but need to be in the rear to look after kids ... gotten older A7 instead.

Cheers.

Hey richard

Recalled sometime ago u shared on zen uv film? The MI one finally pissed me off enuf. Haha. Can u pls share briefly again on your take on the zen platinum film, pros and cons over the other brands etc ? I think its about $400 to layer it over the mi one. Think this is preferred over the laser shades. Sort of disregarding the laser shade option now after seeing one fella at woodlands checkpoint frantically removing it during inspections. Haha. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing. I believe Richard and some veterans here spoken about this basic enhancement for the longest time. Oddly, none of my front n rear pax made noise about the bouncy ride. As for me, i found it a tad bouncy compared to my previous sedan but not disturbing enough. Yet. Haha. Will certainly consider this as well as a front strut bar in time to come. The prices quoted are very reasonable compared to "seemingly cheap" ones from brands like ultraracing.

Thanks Richard for the advice. Looks like I’m going to install it tomoro. But will the ride be too harsh? Meaning can feel every single little unevenness on the road? I changed my ride due to harshness so hoping not going back the old path.

Hi Cal,

Your ride is FNA or FXT and you will be installing cusco 20mm solid or wrx sti 20mm hollow presumably rear ARB ??

FXT with cusco 20mm will still be ok in my opinion ... my case is a bit different due to 80-100kg more ICE and SP with probably 70% on the rear and hence I can not only feel but hear a bit of hardness which wrx sti alleviated but at expense of more unsettling jitters.

FXT with wrx sti will be fine and FNA with wrx sti will be a breeze and FNA with cusco to me will be perfect.

Hope this help but you will soon find out expected positive outcome tmrw but do share when available.

Cheers,

Richard

Mine is fxt and will be installing STI rear ARB. Ironically, my previous ride is alrdy with STI rear ARB. Of cos both rides are of different chassis, ride height and coil overs etc. Hence, a bit apprehensive and seeking advice from those on fxt with STI rear ARB.
