Yysiong 3rd Gear May 17, 2016 Share May 17, 2016 Has anyone compared the Sienta to the Prius Alpha since both are hybrid 7 seaters from Toyota? I believe the Prius Alpha is not widely available but PIs are willing to bring in custom orders if requested. Two main differences (Sienta vs Prius Alpha): Sliding doors vs Swing doors Second row 50:50 configuration vs 30:30:30 It seems that the Prius Alpha might be slightly longer but the Sienta might be more space efficient since it's more boxy. My wife doesn't like the look of the Sienta and prefers having three full seats in the second row (we have two kids so she'll be the one sitting between them in the second row), hence I started looking into the Prius Alpha. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks! Its consider an uncommon car bro. Risky. Parts also difficult to find ↡ Advertisement
Zfuyuan 1st Gear May 18, 2016 Share May 18, 2016 Second row 50:50 configuration vs 30:30:30Most of PI bring in 7 seaters sienta, which seats 3 person in the 2nd row. Folding configuration does not affect seating arrangement.
Mkl22 Supersonic May 18, 2016 Share May 18, 2016 The flat floor of the new model is certainly attractive as the centre person can sit more comfortable but I didnt notice that the 2nd row is level with 1st row though. I had the impression the dimensions of the seats looks pretty much the same except for the 3rd row where the seats are now joined together. The split seats of the current model was useful as both seats up, you can still squeeze in a small travel bag in the middle. I just saw the new Indo-spec Sienta. Roof top aircon and floor mounted transmission. I still like my dash mounted transmission. the benefits of the Indonesian Sienta which Borneo will be bringing in is the roof mounted aircon blower. i doubt it has any cooling coils. it just sucks the air and redistributes it. I think there are slightly more Hybrid Esquire or Voxy I've seen on the road that this. I saw Prime taxi using it, so far only spotted once or twice private owner. If I'm not wrong, only Richburg brought it in. 3rd row seat (leg room) seems to be fine, but the head room is a challenge for adult. It is also under CAT B. But of course the car looks is much nicer, sportier :) side profile looks like Wish. I ended up with Sienta Hybrid :) Edited May 18, 2016 by Kteokteo
Lilukl 1st Gear May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 For dairy drive...is the patrol more powerful then hybrid? Can't decide whether to patrol or hybrid. My heart more towards hybrid.. model tech n good start torque. Any reason why u get hybrid?

My heart more towards hybrid.. model tech n good start torque. Any reason why u get hybrid? Hybrid have advantage in low speed torque due to its electric motors. Overall would say both model equally same power. Choose hybrid, if any statement is true for you: - long distances - high % on highway - want to save the earth
Cheefarn 5th Gear May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 http://paultan.org/2016/05/20/toyota-sienta-mpv-previewed-in-malaysia/ The official export Sienta from Indonesia has been launched. It will be sold in Bolehland as well Compare the official exported model and the JDM Sienta G.... - Completely different engine. Indonesia built Sienta uses the Avanza engine! JDM uses the Vios 1NZ-FE or the hybrid version of the same engine. I don't know how to compare the 2 when the engine used is completely different - Completely different center console with different gearshift and position - Climate Control panel is completely different in the Indonesia model. The buttons looks very cheap and the unit has no heater.. - Traction control/VSC hill start etc all missing. - Seems like it has locally fitted 'car alarm' despite spotting push button start. - Just dual airbags only (or 3 if u count the knee bag). Side protection all missing. - Plastic used seems a grade lower than the JDM model You will need to decide if u are willing to spend more for a Indonesia built SIenta from BM when its sold in SG eventually. Besides what bro Zfuyuan has mentioned for choosing the hybrid over the petrol version. you can read here.... http://en.responsejp.com/article/2015/09/04/259373.html This is particularly mentioned for the hybrid version... "The torque of its motor makes its power performance higher than the gasoline version, thus it is more flexible. With the gasoline version, driving uphill when you have two or three passengers is a struggle; with the hybrid version, you can accelerate without any difficulty. The hybrid version has a more flexible running performance on highways and mountain roads.z' Also if you do lots of city driving, it can save more petrol. When the battery is charged to a reasonable level like 5-8 bars (out of 10), you can sustain at max of 60km/l running EV mode (full electric mode) for a short distance. So far my driving pattern is about 90% city/10% highway, i clocked from 17km/l - 18km/l per tank. Few other members i know can clock over 20km/l -23km/l (best) per tank with more highway travel. Hi Kteokteo, I had my Sienta 'X' 2016 (Petrol) Model since March 2016 and am clocking an average of 14.5 km/l. Am happy with the built-in 'ECO' drive system and is helping on the savings. I wonder what are the savings for other 'X' version vehicle owners out there? Btw wanna say hello to Zfuyuan too, on this forum.

There are also some bros travel very short distance daily, their FC 10-11km/l. Those that travel a lot on highway can get 20km/l. Ozark Neutral Newbie June 1, 2016 Share June 1, 2016 Hi Zfuyuan, FC of 20km/l is tough to come by on Spore roads. Well, maybe if I decided to keep pace at 70km most of the time, probably maybe 18km/l hahaahaa. Sorry have deleted my Facebook account and am not using it. Zack123 1st Gear June 10, 2016 Share June 10, 2016 Can any owner confirm if the new Sienta has spare tyre? If yes, where is it located?
Ozark Neutral Newbie June 10, 2016 Share June 10, 2016 Hi Zack, Most new Japanese cars now, does not come equipped with spare tyre. Instead they comes with an equipment (that runs on the car's cig/battery charger) that temporary seal/patches the tyre and thereafter you will have to get the tyre fix asap. However, beneath the seat, there is a spare tyre compartment shud you wish to equip your car with a spare tyre.
