Hi Atrecord,

I can understand the pain in your pocket. It's just that your situation is different and you did not have more time to wait.....

Who knows, COE will plunge after mid 2016... Then for those who renew anytime from now til June will also suffer the same fate... :-(

In my opinion is, once decided, dun look back cos what you have achieve is one less worry of whether to scrap or buy new... :-)

Thanks for the comforting words.

Yah, i know it was becos had no choice couldn't wait at that time, so took the plunge at $59k.

Just hope that if i buy another car in the next year, can sell of the wish at a decent price...

According to LTA Website,

PQP for April is $47,450

PQP for May is $46,048

If I renew now, it will be $47,450.

If I renew next month, it will save me $1K+ @ $46,048.

My ride expire in mid June-16, I should be able to wait for June PQP result before deciding renewing in May or June. right?

June too late, cos June is for July renewal.

In this case you can wait til May bidding... But take note of the 38k QP in February as this is the average for May PQP....

So if the May 2nd bidding is out and resulted in higher PQP for June, you have to make sure you renew in May.

This is based on what I see in how this works...

Any brothers out there is also clear about how this works? Am I right? Second opinion and views please....

Agree bro, but if you COE expire not on 1/May you can renew in May cos it is a little lower comparing April PQP ($47,450 vs $46,048)

COE for May unlikely to drop to $38k cos my view is if there are only 50% of the quota given, the other 50% will plunge in again in the next bidding exercise.

Not forgetting new owners who booked their vehicle from now to next exercise.

Therefore in my opinion, it is unlikely to drop since demand is still there...

Well of course this is just my 2 cents...

yeah bro. i intend to take a small loan for renewal, at 4% interest rate.

they advise me to wait till may 2nd bidding before to see if it's more worth it to renew for june pqp price.

so i have 1 more month to struck toto [smash]

Bro,

I'm blur on this PQP thingy. :a-confused:

My ride similar expire COE as your ride on 21Jun2016. Its a Ody and PARF rebate is $15655.

issit that the PQP is based on 6 bids average value? Meaning Feb got 2 bits, Mar got 2 bids and Apr got 2 bids. Come May 1st bid, it will replace the 1st Feb bid price and so the May PQP renewal will be based on average of 2nd Feb bid + 2 bids in Mar + 2 bids in Apr + 1st May bid?

Thank you for advise.

May PQP is already out, after the 2nd bid in April.

May PQP is @ $46,048

We will know June-16 PQP upon 2nd COE bidding in May.

If it is lower then $46,048. We will just happily renew in June, as our ride expire in June.

If it is higher then $46,048. depending on how much higher, you might want to take the lower PQP and renew in May.

Hope this helps.

4% interest rate based on front-end loading method calculation is an effective interest rate of about 8%.
