cravecott98 6th Gear April 4, 2019 Share April 4, 2019 Managed to test drive the 1.5T today when sending in my 1.5Jazz for servicing. Drive is relatively good, the sound system and suspension feel better than Jazz. Once the turbo kicks in, really nice. Civic do feel better insulated than Jazz. Overall, nice car! they will still entertain u when not serious about buying? ↡ Advertisement

Midorima 4th Gear April 4, 2019 Share April 4, 2019 (edited) If I pay less than 50k for a decent car in sg, I will go for performance. If I'm paying 100+k, then reliability pls. I dont want my car to be in the workshop more than me being able to enjoy its performance. Different strokes for different folks. As it is, are there really so many dsg in workshop? You may hear isolated cases, but it could be those cases being repeated again and again, but it’s the same case. There are people who clock 60,000km on A3 no problems, some even more. People like to quote bad examples more than good ones so there is biaseness. There is nothing much to discuss about good examples right? Yes there were the notorious VW problems. But that was quite a number of years back. Companies learn from lessons. Just like now, the civics are no longer like before. Things change. nywa78 3rd Gear April 4, 2019 Share April 4, 2019 Is it true that it is recommended to use 95 petrol for the 1.5T? Any bro uses 92 only?

Go register an account at vagsg forum and check the recent postings. I myself sold my DQ200-equipped VW for a Civic in 2018. Avoid DQ200 if you really want an Audi/VW.

Well I didn't say they changed the DQ200 did I? They made changes such as software etc. to prolong the DQ200. If there were no changes, why are there less and less occurrences of problems? Can't be it solved by itself right? Companies learn from mistakes and make rectifications was my point, and it does not necessarily mean changing the DQ200. If you ask any VW SA in 2017 they will say they fixed the gearbox issue in 2016. You ask them this year they will tell you all gearbox fixed after 2018. Like I said, go check out vagsg forum do a search how many Mk7/7.5 reported clutch pack/MU failures. Also check Sgcarmart on Golf TSI recent user reviews. I loved my ex-VW, same as you I trust VW will somehow improve DQ200 (can't afford R/GTI) but being a long time vagsg forum member I have seen enough.

I don’t drive the dq200 but my friends (quite a big number) who drove it are all ok. And again, I didn’t say it’s eliminated but improved. I won’t say there is no problems cos that is too broadbrush. Just like if you say all will have problems it is too broadbrush. Anyway no point talking about this. Go back to civic.

Julio369 1st Gear April 11, 2019 Share April 11, 2019 (edited) You may want to try putting in the bump stop which does not cost much.I don't think the shock absorbers got compressed so much to hit the end... But I think I found the source.... Inside the car trunk, there's a big piece of plastic covering the bottom and the loop shape boot latch. That plastic is rubbing against the car metal parts. If use hand to shake that plastic cover, can hear knocking sound. This cover can be easily pry out using hand. I place those chair's leg round shape felts inside, between plastic & metal body ay. Tested over humps, no sound already. Really is tomyam soup quality .. Edited April 11, 2019 by Julio369
