Optimus JC, stands for good, best and one (in the form of a blue prime mover) who fights for justice against the bad guys...

 

Also the JC aims to "transform" the boys and girls to men and women.

 

Notice there are 3 vowels - one for each of the 3 IP schools.

 

The governing board will be elected from a very selected pool of well respected individuals..... all members of MCF.

My daughter will be going to this JC after sec 4.

Base on her infor, most of her classmates don't like the new JC name..

For the past years, there are many proposer from the students of the 3 IP school. And many students had suggested name as LKY JC.

On a more serious note, this issue reveals one of my worries for our future... leadership figures and exclusive committees that insist they are right with no due consideration for reasoned alternative views and counter-proposals. They will just bulldoze through, even off a cliff Good luck!

It's quite common these days especially when it pertains to policy or decision making...that these people on committees are elected or paid to echo or parrot one another. Who wants to be the one voicing disagreement & risks his/her position/job? It's much easier to just go with the flow to protect one's rice bowl.

For an elitist school they put so much emphasis on naming it. For a neighbourhood school I doubt anyone will bother coz "every school is a good school".

The fancier the name, the more obvious the reason to cover up the possibility that the students might be underachievers/underperformers
