Why we have a Mt Sinai Rd there is beyond my imagination. Merlion JC actually is somewhat taken coz Nanyang JC logo has the Merlion's head on it. My suggestions is 1 Sang Nila Utama JC. LoL.... Look at the other newer JCs, Meridian and Innova, as examples. Agreed but then they should not suck up to exotic continental names ; we have more than enough local names of famous people here and Engrish sounding ones too like Sheares JC or David Marshall JC or oops Harry JC ; i pity Sang Nila Utama or Parameswara or the Aljunieds and Alkaffs or for that fact Lim Bo Seng ... This reminds me of the parents who name their kids special misspelt names to stand out from the crowd. Too many people (and it seems people at MOE as well) confuse UNIQUE as SPECIAL. There was indeed a Sang Nila Utama school, which I think is now shut down. Why we can't use it as an opportunity to preserve our identity or history is beyond me. Yalor.
