Sounds more effective than some HongKong police/mafia show where one of the character will keep some critical evidence on timed-release to the media if he is dead, to ensure his survival... [laugh]

Did not know MCF can provide the same service... :D

the day you stop posting, we know you expired...not BEFORE, not AFTER, but IMMEDIATELY!

It is important to know how to store fresh food in your fridge.

First off, get a fridge thermometer. It is not expensive; at a glance you can tell if your food is stored with the correct temp.

Fridge has different trays, sections, temp varies accordingly.

Store vegetable in the veg tray.

Meat, butter, dairy, tohu must be stored in the chilled case.

Chilled case is near to 0 degree, not freezing.

And those food you want to store longer, you can put them in the freezer.

Came across this one from NEA previously when I was searching for informaton on food safety and proper handling, should be helpful for rest of the MCFers here:

http://www.nea.gov.sg/docs/default-source/public-health/food-hygiene/guidelines-on-proper-storage-of-food-in-refrigerators-and-use-of-refrigerators.pdf

oh yeah, includes a chart with the duration you are advised to keep your fresh produce

How many times can meat and seafood, freeze and unfreeze?

Countless times. But give it a whiff if it turns bad.

Best is thaw it properly. Do not let it sit on counter top. Bacteria grows rapidly in that temp.

once defrost cannot freeze again, i was told all along.

I wonder what's the reason ?

For me, I just empty the water that comes out, and throw back the food in the freezer.

Just thinking that maybe the water is bad and encourage bacteria growth.
