Judging from their play, it was not an easy game at St Mary.

Saints left Austin alone upfront most of the time which allowed our defenders to easily clear any inbound threats.

Saints deployed a multi-layer fortress with eye-catching performances from Forster and Van Dyke.

Liv players seemed to take a while to get into gear; occasional glimpses of it. Possible with a travel to St Mary after an inetrnational break that added to their fatigue.

The rain also challenged our desire to play football on the ground although the guys tried very hard.

Coutihno player a more central role in the 2nd half and that was when we became more threatening; but our left flank was missing an outlet.

Milner seemed to have heavy foot; possibly due to the wet pitch condiions. I wold have preferred Moreno whose left foot crosses would have been more natural.

Wijnaldrum...felt he was lost in the 2nd half. I cld not see his contributions except those ghost moves.

DS gave a good acct of himself as he was unpredictable with his passes helped by his body feints.

DO? Not sure if he came on too late. Did try but unable to do much. I am still pondering why DO is not given more game time as a substitute.

All said, i think it was a good acct of Liverpool's performance where they tried hard to snatch a goal but failed. I would be happy of such performances and it showed how much they have progressed under JK.

JK may have fixed his first 11 and my opinion is he cn be a stubborn nut. Maybe he is still tryg to learn the English game but he needs to know when to bring in a substitute to influence the tide of the game to our benefit

Though the result wasn't what we wanted, I thought our performance showed that we are really challenging for titles by dominating teams rather than rely on counter attack to win games. We look like trying to recreate our "red machine" again, where we try to dominate our opponent into submission.

Lallana out for another 2, 3 matches will give us some problems. He is a very good presser and creator. And now he scores goals too. We often see him and Firmino pressing very well. Now we need Wijnaldum to step up as towards the end of 2nd half after Sturridge was sub in, he was virtually non-existent. I know he was trying to get into the box from midfield but without Lallana, I need him to press more and force more mistakes from opponent as he, like Lallana, can make a pass in and around the box. So for the next few matches, trio of Hendo, Can and Wij really have to step up and perform well.

Our next 2 games are S'land (H) & Bornemouth (A). Both winnable.

Our top 4 opponents : Chelsea v Spurs, then MC vs Chelsea.

Hope we will go on a winning run again in this crucial Nov-Dec period.

For DS lack of game in early part. My though.. Africa cup. He can't afford to have DS injured before mane left. If not we have striker issue in Jan.

That's what i thot too.

Protect your less hardy assets and reserves and unleash them at right time.

African cup of nations is scheduled for 14/1/17 to 5/2/17.

Congested and crucial window for Klopp to tinker with both his spine and utility players.

We lost the top spot ... but it's a long journey ... still have 26 more games to go ...

We got to pile up the pressure from this weekend game and onwards, and score goals to win and hope all other teams lose

It doesn't matter the position in the table. As long as come come April we are still top 4 and within reach of the title.

Is more pressure to lead than chasing.

Matip looks real solids at the back , a real steal given that he is FOC :)

Hopefully Klopp can instill confidence into the players and we will look forward to next Saturday game :)

Ya man, he is one cool cucumber sia. Never see him kan jiong and very good positioning. A 100% upgrade to Skrtel.

The league is usually won by beating the smaller teams...

while smaller teams doesn't mean weaker teams... lets split the table into 3 groups... the top third consists of teams going for the title and champion league's qualification.  The bottom third are those who are fighting to avoid relegation. The middle third are the king makers!

We are talking about those king makers who could sneak an upset against those top tier teams and hence it is important to get a result when playing against these mid table teams.

A draw away to Southampton is ok result if you ask me... I did not watch this game but from reports, it seemed like we should have won...

there is no winnable games in EPL. Sunderland is on a 2 game winning "run" . Bourne is playing good football under Eddie Howe. We must treat them like ManU or Chelsea. Every game is tough, play to win !

Our momentum halted by the internationals (and injuries from that).... si  bei sianz..

Other teams also have players going for intl games.... No excuse, It was a game we could have won, but let try again. Just keep fighting. I really like what I see now. 87th minute, we're pushing but yet not rushing. Good mentality there.

We shall see whether it is 2 points lost or 1 point won.

An away point is always good. However, I recall how many games Leicester won last year with a 1-0 score line. A draw may not be good enough.

Disappointed withe draw. Could have won 0-1.

Spurs has not lost a game .... but they are only 5th in the table.

Agreed !

We must keep on treating each and every game like there's no tomorrow ... and go all out to clinch the precious 3 points ...

Other teams will drop points ... that's for sure ... but make sure, we will every game ourselves ... and we will be among the top 4 when May 2017 comes ....

Of course, if we are still top when May comes, that will be the icing on the cake ... but let's treat each game as it comes ...

And keep on fighting, and keep on scoring game ....

Scoring will definitely have a chance of winning ... no score definitely no win ...

It's actually a fair result. Southampton is very organise. But yet Liverpool manage to create a few clear chance. That's why the report say Liverpool should had won.

Southampton 0-0 Liverpool

One of those days when you play against a team intent on having a draw by parking the bus.

One good lesson for Klopp & Co to ponder.

Firmino and esp Coutinho some jaded by jet-lag.

An anti-climax to Pool's dominance in possession.

Better luck next time.

Come on LFC.

against a bus parking team.. there is a very very simple tool:

Set pieces
