Having driven the A class and C class recently I dare say if NVH and a pliant ride aren’t as big a deal - the A class is quite impressive

legroom will match the c class. Better sitting position too

A simple question easily solved: have you driven them or at least sat in one? Then you will get your answer dude.. don’t rely on diagrams alone .

yes i have that is why i said, headroom, is best for me in C class, then A class sedan , with A klass hatch, same with legroom,

but A class platform is still much tigher inside.

personal preference (sitting comfort only) is C klass better but then again, you are paying more and C class is supposed to be the higher SES model in the MB food chain. (followed by E & S , etc)

not touching driving dynamics or MBUX , etc

I would go with option one.

Big ticket item is the drivetrain - engine and transmission. At least that's covered for 3 years. And engine alone for another two years).

No need top up for option 1. As for option 2, seriously beware of max claim clauses. Those big ticket items can easily bump or exceed that limit.

Make sure no weasel word clauses about "abuse" voiding warranty. If they put this then damn subjective as to what constitutes abusive driving. My fast Malaysia road and track driving can be someone's idea of abusive driving etc.

Auto Spritze does have a good rep for mercs.

MBM... no comment.

Thx bro for the sound advice, and for the other bros as well. Decided on option 1

Your right. Its also depends how u sit & posture.

Eg sit 3/4 way in & slouch a lil vs sit all way in & straight posture.

I was puzzled why a korean friend sat in my car but his head almost touch the roof & i tot my car actually damn small. Then i realize he sittin all in & ramrod straight.

Recommend Option 1...I have used their service and they are competent WS...No monkey business and Merz experts.

Can anyone please help me wic models r using e Renault engines for sgp mkt? Tq I appreciate ur help

Any Merc which is C160 and cheaper is your guide.

A, B, GLA, GLB etc. And now probably the E180 too.
FYI, the net difference from the E180 to the E200 is under 30k. If one is in the market for such a luxury car, one should be looking at it from a longer term view. If one is squeezing to get the E Class, maybe another car is a better bet..

The recent introduction of the new A class all the way to the E 180 has caused some confusion..

Having a Merc logo on the engine cover means NOTHING. Many companies do that.
But it's a Fact that the lower end models use the Renault engines.

However having driven the A200, it's a sweet engine. Now whether it will last or behave like the Qashqai 1.2T is a different matter... and yes, that's a Renault engine too...

Many Merc owners don't even know their cars aren't made in Germany. Or that the Merc entry level van isn't really a Merc, but rather a direct rebadged Renault Kangoo with different fascia..

C160 & E180 use Mercedes engine - from C200 FL 1.5TC, just detune

Both the C-Class and E-Class are using Mercedes in-house engines M264 and Mercedes Gearbox 9G-Tronic. Where did you get the info from that it is renault? What's your source?

FYI

C160 - M264 Single Scroll Turbo 1.5L w/ 9G-TRONIC

E180 - M264 Twin Scroll Turbo 1.5L w/ 9G-TRONIC

not from Renualt / Nissian
