Everyone has different wants at different stages of life. C180 is entry level conti for the young exec who has made it. Kia will always be Kia.

Yep that's true.

Before one has scratched the Audi/BMW/Merc itch (with all the perceived status and build quality that comes with that), it's hard to mentally justify spending BMW money on a Korean/Japanese make - no matter how compelling the performance numbers.

It's a bit of a been there done that dynamic at play, me thinks.

Which part of my post suggests that I am one those feeling "emotional" about the car?

A racer looking car is like a Tuscani for example. Looks fast but is slow.

A Stinger looks fast and is fast.

Its only mhv..

This Stinger has stirred up a lot of excitement, lots of posts, and loads of speculation... much much more than (my perception) other cars, be it SK, Jap or conti.

Doesn't this (and other) threads on Stinger suggest that more people are suggesting they "want" the car.. even before they have a chance to see & touch, let alone physically drive?

How often will how many actually drive the car to or even near its limits of speed & performance? But "it's fast".. mmm, I want!

It's indeed (also ime) a good-looking, fast-looking car.. mmm, I want!

That's emotions in play..!

BTW..

6 years and often as I walk towards my K5..

Still see it as a really good-looking car, holding its own among much newer cars..

and always with some regret KIA-SG just wouldn't bring it in with the TC'd DGI engine.

M i emo abt the Stinger? Let's see what KIA-SG brings in, and how they price..

LOL

Not sure if this will be the first Korean car that PI dealers want to consider bringing in (as a cheaper alternative to C&C)...

Anyone knows any PIs to enquire if they got lobangs?

yup like the look of the K5 compared to the sonata/i40.

But rare now on the roads. I see my car (which is already quite uncommon) more than K5 (non taxi versions)

Think more so for Hyundai Sonata than KIA K5.. KIA-SG claimed they were firm that the taxis should not have the pte's "sporty" look.

Anyway, kia will sure bring in the 3.3L. But my guess maybe will be a short time only if the sales not good

Remember last time coupe? I think there is a turbo charged coupe that they bring in for like 6 months max in 2013?

There's only 2 types of cars which makes sense for PIs to bring in - (1) Domestic models which the ADs don't sell i.e. Harrier/Vezel, and (2) models where the AD margin is huge + market demand is strong i.e. Mercedes (where they can undercut despite not having the economies of scale of the ADs).

Hopefully CnC is not going to mark up the margin on the Stinger so much that it makes sense for PIs to bring it in !
