Then they should try bring this new Golf ASAP to beat the VES deadline. At least to try win back lost market share due to the GB issue.

I suspect there's still some stock left, and once the new version comes, especially if the issues are sorted, it will be hard to sell any of the older ones.. ;)

But who knows, a batch could already be on a boat headed this way  [thumbsup]

They have been doing that for months already.. it should intensify in the next few months, but their stocks may already be depleted..

This could be a new start for them, and if the car mechanicals are reliable, they will regain some reputation.

However the new emission rules put them at a distinct disadvantage - their 1.4 TSI is now 15k more at least and unless the new 1.5 tsi can do better, their Golf will cost more than a A180.

What price is considered lelong? 102k for the 1.2?

I see. 102k is still a very good price compared to the japanese bnb cars

Also consider the Astra 1.4T.

Very good value, and it uses a 6 speed regular auto.

Cat B COE too.

Free servicing and long warranty.

Around 8K margin after COE.

Easier to put a number to the equation of Lelong.

Else we be having a long discussion about COE dynamics

Golf R

Golf R seems to be understated and could be mistaken for a wall flower.

A45 seems to be that much more bash and has more oommps..

at 310bhp  and 7 speed Wet clutch, its sort of meet the power bump, but on a much lower spectrum.

I am more keen to see if they do indeed not dumb specs it like what they did to the current GTi and not come with the Front differential

IN Fact, the current Golf R came equip with a Blue motion monitor when what it really need is a sports monitor with boost gauge and torque.

A bit retarded to be looking at petrol consumption in a high performance car.

Well, it's better than a loss.. maybe they are under instructions to clear stock..

But they can remove some items, and take back any free servicing if any at all.

And solar film etc etc.

The same way one can lower the OMV of any car..

The price range between Golf R and A45 is quite substantial.. 55k vs 85k in Aust..

The new Golf may probably have better emissions than the outgoing model.

Will it be enough to get 10k rebate?

IMO if it's  in the neutral band, you should be smiling already..

Unless they detune it big time for us.

Its when you have a view of the stock yard at sembawang and jurong and see the amount of cars that it kept there. Thats where you start to think of buying cars.

When the inventory is high, you have a fair bit of bargaining power.

Coupled with news of new model, lagi more power.

Flims and cam are now so cheap. Its hardly worth asking.

Spend 100K and ask for small ticket items, just not worth the time.

Go big, ask for VW subwoofer. Because that is OEM and need to have VW in house tools to tune.

At 1K , its worth more then the so called 1K cam that they offer.

Servicing to you maybe free, but to VW, its a back end product to inject fundings to the back end. I doubt even if you want to have a price reduction and take out the servicing, they may want to oblige.
