Handling such as parking and u turn do not different much as my previous ride, that's what I meant. ð

VC is voice command...I use mainly to make calls or navigate.

I usually do not switch off aircon...iirc the system only remembers your last settings for 10 mins. Beyond that...it's default settings Liao.

Thanks for the heads up ð

Oh yes, to remember your air recirculation setting requires vagcom, i forgot that i had that done. But iirc, if you set recirculation to auto, you will smell fumes from outside. You should set it to always on.

For general knowledge.

I am able to through Vag-Com configure the following on a Superb.

1. Change convenience blinks from 3 to 5.

2. Recirculation mode will default to last selection. i.e. If it's turned on, it will remain so even after powering off and starting the car an hour later.

3. Show the amount of fuel pumped in the MFD.

Did not try to disable auto start/stop but I don't think that's a problem.

Good to know the new skoda cars is still able to config these. Adding the easy entry via vagcom would make the cars look even smarter.

When you guys mention vag com, does it mean AD cannot help us in these preference settings?

Testing whether auto air circulation works....I smell fumes but it does not turn on recirculation. It does not or the sensor threshold set too high?

Anyone can wonder why skoda can make such a spacious car despite same length with its class? I always in awe by skoda, unfortunately this brand doesnt sell well here otherwise i would get one. Its cheaper version of vw yet bigger space and good spec

Short bonnet, Skoda vehicles have very short bonnets, and thus more interior space.... The brand on the other end is Mazda whose vehicles have long bonnets and result in less interior space than its rivals despite being the same length

The recirculation works, just that the auto recirculation mode is programmed to suit European traffic, so it lets in air. Which is why I suggest you set it to always on mode instead of auto.

There are also more fancy cabin filters nowadays which has PM2.5, HEPA, nano features...not sure if they really work.

I want to do that as well.  Who can help configure the change? PM me his contact.

Any option to allow viewing of video on HU while car is moving?

I don't think Vagcom can enable VIM. Heard obd11 can do so but I don't have that.

I can help with Vagcom but I have to work out my schedule.

Some other findings;

1. I can enable drive mode indicator on the MFD. The selection will appear on MFD when the button is pressed.

2. Columbus comes with postal code search which is good.

3. Skoda oneapp works with Columbus. You need connect via wifi.

4. If you have a scangauge, you can see the boost readings. You can't do so on the S2.

When I have time, I will write a more detailed review.

I thought short bonnets belong to the FD civics. The bonnet lift up to expose such a small space to access the engine. Lol.

ODB needs some kind of credit in order to Pay for that option for ODB11 option VIM to be enabled.

So its not pay one price and u get all the goodies.

would it be possible to retrofit the digital instrumental panel into superb once parts are available?

I am aware that DIP is coming to superb as an option in the facelifted 2019 superb, the superb I will most probably getting would be the pre-facelifted one

It’s possible, local VW specialist retrofitter has done it, see no. 22:

If I were you, I would try to spec it during purchase, instead of retrofitting it.

Guess it irks me to be tearing up a new car for a non-safety critical upgrade.

My two cents.

If I remember correctly, this is an 1500€ option in europe which would translate to a few k if comes originally with the car. Yes agree to better spec it during purchase.

And hence my own view here is the A4 at 149k makes a better choice than the superb. Size wise superb seems larger n is more Audi A5 in look n feel than A4.

The A4 with vc makes a good price point that is hard to ignore

Agree, hopefully once Superb comes with VC then it makes the choice harder

That's what I think as well, but DIP is only available as an option in the upcoming 2019 superb.

I can't wait that long for it to reach our shores!

Edit: I found the DIP available in the czech configurator as an optional upgrade of 8900czk which is around $550

The superb has ventilated seats with massage function, plus there's a place for me to store my umbrella Edited by Lchong
