I'm glad I am out of this cycle of nonsense. I feel more pissed in a crowded bus than stuck in a traffic jam.

I am always glad that i stays close to my workplace.  Who cares about jam, crowded bus, breakdown MRT.

In contrast, the series of breakdown recently is to provide "ammunition" to ask for a higher fare. Remember not too long ago our dearest transport minister said that $$$ is needed for improving reliability?

Now, give it a serious thoughts... :D :D

The Straits Times understands that trains were unable to change tracks because of the fault, and the change-over had to be done manually.

We are becoming like a 3rd world country, have to change track manually...

If we did that here then there'd be a massive 'method statement' and it would require not only more men but a crane as well because those rails are light but MRT rails weigh 60 kg per meter length.

Not only that but when gang arrives at place for switch change then they'd find they'd forgotten to bring 'Method Statement' with them and have to return to the depot.

Also heavy rain would mean difficulties doing work and 'Method Statement' would turn to mush in hand because of rain water.

Train breakdown not only affected those go to work by train, it also affect those who go to work by bus. This person wrote, along the journey, he saw frustrated communiters at every bus stop who are unable to board the full bus.

so true

just like a 4-5 lanes expressway heavy congestion due to 1 lane got accident

that’s because the additional traffic spilled over to other channels

Recently we have power blackouts and MRT breakdowns.

What is the engineering strategy which ERP use in its implementation?

So reliable, never fails.

I am impressed.

How come until today they never share the secret success behind super reliable ERP system?

I still undecided if this piece of news is to be posted in this thread, or under the sharing of good jokes thread... New train put into the service and within hours, had to be sent back to depot due to intermittent faults!! :XD: :XD:

New MRT trains with tip-up seats now in service

ST understands that two new C151C trains were put into service on Sunday. That morning, one of the new trains experienced intermittent signalling faults.

One of the 2 new Kawasaki Heavy Industries & CRRC Qingdao Sifang #C151C trainset, broke down earlier on due to mechanical problems in the train. The train has been subsequently withdrawn back to Bishan deport, for further repairs.

Presumably MRT had inspectors at Kawasaki to check and sign off the trains before shipping.

Looks like also got good coffee shops up there.

Imo they should intro the tip up seats later when the train services improved significantly. Not now when there are still delays...meaning more ppl have to stand longer whenever there's a delay. It will only add to commuters' frustrations and make them more angry.

Aiya, no point wasting my breath when our leaders do not even take the trains.
