As what the rest mentioned

Save it but clear all debts first

Since you do not have kids, consider a trust fund. I have done mine and have beneficiaries that will benefit when I go in due course

Keep a bit to enjoy bro. You been thru a fair bit but try to keep this out of mind but still cognizant it is there should you need it .

Bless you

..... to adopt children? Grow family

Yes, i intend to donate a portion of it to KKH in my late mum's name. She spent her entire working life there as a mid-wife. So hope that it will help any underprivileged kid or family there.

I am not sure how to create a trust fund so most probably will be in FD. I am not a financial savy person so i would like to keep in bank and just earn interest.

And no, i would not be getting any new car. Just spent quite a bit on my current car, so will keep it for a while.

Just like if you win Toto group 1 one day, just clear all your loan (go debt free), put some into investment and save the rest. Life still carry on as usual. With retirement taken care of (the saving and investment), can then do what you like (job wise). Can consider pampering your love one and yourself with the investment return though.

I am old fashion type, I would not use inheritance money for any form of personal enjoyment, but just save it. Spending money earned by myself is still the most fulfilling, to me at least.

I am having trouble convincing my other half to adopt. She does not like kids and always think that him/her will not grow up being filial.

If her maternal instinct not there, then don't bother.

You see many cases even have kids doesnt mean would not become lonely when aged.

There are cases like you said but don’t be discouraged or pessimistic. Family education is important, at least you have tried. I think most MCF ppl didn’t regret having children

Personally. If its not the wife who wants, then I won't recommend. Some women really aren't very motherly. Just give the kids issues in future.
