Nobody cares whether the AD earn how much, they only care about the selling price. The lower the price and the more things they get is the best.

At the end of the day, buyers should focus more on their own sets of priorities like safety features, built quality, handling, interior space and most importantly buying price instead of the AD\s margin.

Assuming both cars have comparable attributes but..

Car A

Selling Price $70,000

AD margin $25,000

VS

Car B

Selling Price $77,000

AD margin $20,000

It's quite obvious the majority will go for Car A right??

KMC has been aggressive with its COE bidding. They will tried to bid for all orders being logged into their system.

I have bought the i30 wagon whereby shipment only coming around mid Feb. But they have already secured my COE on 5th Dec. :)

In terms of whether COE will goes up or down, all depends on the Govt. Too much of intervention by them since decades back. Ups and downs of the COE quotas with reference to car populations, concurrently revised of the OMV system till the current tier taxing, and the VES rebate and surcharge! All these would eventually affect the final selling price and buyers' decisions to commit on a new ride.

Hmm... That means wasted 2 months of coe?

Have you consider that first batch will more or less have teething issues?

Yes, this is the risk I hv to take. Just hope for the best.

No la.. it just means that the COE was secured successfully and that means 1 less thing for him to worry about. COE will only be registered when the car is almost ready for collection.

That's the correct mindset. Buy already just enjoy. I don't think there will be much problem since the car uses the same engine as the previous batch.

Engine wise i doubt much issues. But gearbox there is a jerk in the Elantra. If this occurs in the new Avante, then its an issue.

Blind spot detection, ventilated seats n driver memory seats are really good to have but I will only pay at most $4-$5k more for these features. Think it’s more than that cos got some other extras as well.

The Avante S trim compared to my elantra S.

The sigf differences are

- LED daytime running vs halogen

- 16" vs 15"

- wireless car charging

- cruise control

- leather wrapped steering wheel.

Of all of these, the one that I feel is most worth it is the last haha. I get bit irritated when i drive a non leather wrapped steering wheel.

Nothing wasted bro. LTA allows COE to be KIV for 6 months before being registered to a car.

Hence, my COE will only starts from the date where the car was being registered with LTA. :)

I doubt Cat B COE will have much movement. Good thing is I have secured to a new ride. Feb will be good time too as my current ride COE will expired by May. No hurry for me to change now. :)

As for the concern about 1st batch issues, I doubt will be anything serious as they are using back the same old engine and gb.  Only the look has changed. I would called this a facelift rather than a new model actually....

How nice if they could add-in the turbo variants. I would have bought the Avante instead being more spacious and better specs.

Even the MY Avante has the 1.6L turbo. Here in SG we don't even have the entry level 1.4turbo being offered around i30 price. :(

Not even as an option... :(

That's good. If I didn't hear wrongly, the Avante basic does not come with leather seats.

If really want, just get it done at Classic Auto Leather. They can do a good job. Can select type of leather and colour combination.

The lady boss name is Irene.

Can be done in a day.
