German marques are already into soul-less EVs, when do you guys think Swiss lux will move into EWs (aka quartz)?

@Alfc Already started low time ago,but cannot follow Japanese Price,so Failed,also not lasting,Tissot have those Multi Purpose Solar Watch,but after 2-3 Years,it Spoilt..

i guess just like car.. those hard core one will still prefer ICE/Turbo/SuperCharge. so those those watch lover/collector will likely stick with analog/winding/auto/tourbillion/rattrapante etc..

Was surfing around and came across the Rolex 19018 OysterQuartz.. i din know Rolex got quartz.. seem sales din take off then of cos now maybe different as youngster taste is strange! whahahahahha..

This probably started when the swiss were competing with japanese seiko which the latter made it so viable and successful for mass market adoption.

Mechanical movements revival still command its own unique proposition today but more from a superficial branding perspective. How many watch buyers of such movement actually look into the heritage, craftsmanship, icons and history behind each maker.

Now then i knew Grand Seiko Spring Drive,is actually half Mechanical,half Electronic(No wonder so Accurate)..so won't go for it.

It is a hybrid system developed by the Japanese mastery in watch making. No other watch maker did it. Depend on how one see it, suppose to be the best of both worlds. Accuracy close to quartz (mechanical no fight) and no need for battery for life.

it is like your hybrid camry

I like the mechanism very much, it is a brilliant idea and execution

just hope that they will do a cheaper non GS version on normal seiko
