Basic car cost for XE 2.0d is 102k. Add in Cat B COE of 47k, total is 149k. They still make 10k from a sale, but that's a crazy low margin for a premium brand.

How do you bargain below listed price of 159999? Jaguar trade in value really bad.around 4 to 6k lower than bmw and Mercedes

that's actually because bmw and merc raise their list price higher, then give you "overtrade" nonsense.

check out the following link from one motoring and you'll see that jaguars are actually higher cost price cars...while bmw and merc are just sucking you with higher margins and profits.....

XE petrol and diesel, basic cost or sale price is about 10k difference

XE petrol was launched at 204 999k and after 5k discount 199 999k

Currently listed at 184 999k and after 5k its 179 999k

They usually don't do overtrade and their sale price usually not far (5k) from listed unlike BMW and Merc with the "overtrade" which often makes buyers think that they have a durian-drop deal

So surprised to hear 159 999k with "overtrade" for diesel right now with coe at 46k

Resale Jag has a limited pool of buyers compared to BMW and Merc bec replacement parts and servicing can burn the pocket if unlucky to get a lemon

Turbocharged

XE had an impressive look to me when I first heard of it. Now, it doesn't seem as chio as I thought at the time.

And the ongoing criticism of interior space seems like a letdown.

This XE is slightly bigger & longer than its rivals like the current C-class or the new A4 but it doesn't translate into bigger interior space like legroom or shoulder width.

Maybe all in the insulation lah

The criticism on the interior space is overblown. I sat in both the XE and IS200t, they are pretty much the same.

More leather in interior? Is the dashboard leather wrapped?

Lol you are talking about 2 cars that are similarly cramped inside, of cuz the same.

I suggest taking a look at C-class, the current latest gen one. The knee room and foot space is class leading. Jag XE is quite far behind. Width of door opening also slightly behind for the Jag.

Dunno about the Lexus but Jag XE is leather wrapped, dashboard as well as door panels or most of it, in black leather.

I though the C-class had a tiny rear legroom compared to say the 2015 Audi A4 and the F30-3 Series.

The Jaguar XE seemed smaller than the C.. Kind of reminds me of the E46 3-series

If compare real physical figures, they have same length, Jag XE is wider though, wheelbase very similar also. The XE looks bigger to me maybe because of its design, more pronounced curves, less sharper lines or dips in body work like the C-class.

I checked out the C-class, XE and latest A4 but the XE's leg room and foot space isn't very good. If I had to rank these 3, the C would be no.1, followed by A4 and the XE would be a very far no.3.

In terms of interior design, it's up to individual preference. I didn't like it but others may dig it. It is more matured looking. Quality wise, the interior of the XE gave me this "hollow" feeling which the C or A4 didn't exude.

I am 1.80 meter tall and I don't really feel it is cramp. Sure they are not more spacious like say the E class, but frankly not that big a deal. Agree the rear door opening is slightly narrow for me.

I have the Jaguar "latte" trim which is beige in english. Its a lot nicer than the black trim. Seats and parts of door rests and cubby cover in beige leather. Dashboard is black with central panel in black piano. The combination of black and beige is a lot more classy looking.

For the C180, understand that the standard trim is Not genuine leather. Its Artico leather, which I think is artificial stuff.

Earlier posts had some dimensions showing JagXE having lowest height. I compare XE, C class and 3 series. Still think on looks alone Jag wins. It looks so much sportier.

But agree, space wise c class wins
