Knighthunter 4th Gear March 6, 2016 Share March 6, 2016 (edited) I am also looking to replace my 4 years W204K FL, checked the W205 C180 the equipment level is super pathetic. looking also for XE since is really sexy car but now still in EU for business trip only can see by the new of the month. How's the part availability for Jag in SG? I had bad experience with this dealer few years ago when having problem with Renault Euro Van, it leaves bad taste. Another one is A4 but I heard new one now is FWD? I prefer RWD. if not I will keep my W204 for another 2-3 years since only clocked 60k km for 4 years ownership and so far it's very reliable car. Sdf4786k Twincharged March 7, 2016 Share March 7, 2016 BMW 318: People say badge whore, 3 cylinder BMW, lol. I think buy higher range like 328i more suitable but price different alot by then, outgoing model for me so I strike off my list - $165K C180: Love the current latest model both exterior & interior, luxurious and spacious, not as well equipped I thought it would be, badge appeal for some people, very common on the roads - $171K Jag XE: Handsome exterior, but image wise not suitable someone not yet 30 like me, exclusivity is big draw point for me, very new model on the roads - 2.0 Turbodiesel $160K, 2.0 Turbo petrol $170K Audi A4: New LED lights on the outside, new sweet design language inside, exterior sheet metal overly safe, latest model amongst these 4 - $155K Above prices was when I was doing my shopping during the period when COE Cat B was $38K. In the end, I chose the A4. I couldn't get the C-class to justify its additional $15,000 with its subpar specs at this price segment and extensive waiting time. Neither could I live with the Jag XE image over the long run. There ought to be some level of performance in this segment. C180 and the new A4 is very similar. The BMW is the weakest in the whole lot. Jag XE both diesel & turbo variant is most powerful. Jag XE is a handsome car, no doubt. Just not my cup of tea. But everytime check online reviews, they always say new Jag XE is cream of the crop amongst these 4 options leh. nice choice. The jag has 2 engine option.2.0 with 200bhp and 240 bhp. not sure if chipping is an option . the real letdown of the car is really the build quality and the leather stitching. worst then a locally taxi fitted pvc piece . cost wise and parts wise, its a bit of hit and miss. Then again, BMW and audi parts are not cheap to begin with. Reliability is a big unknown. For the price we pay in SG, its something to consider long and hard Is this the portfolio model. The blue one that was in this spot was rather nice as well.
Sdf4786k Twincharged March 7, 2016 Share March 7, 2016 What Jaguar is trying to create is a sports car feel... like being in a tub, in the XE. As a result space is compromised because the hip-point of every passenger is very low. The XE will only appeal to the old-BMW type of drivers where it promised to be the ultimate driving machine. BMW today has gone softer... more and more like Mercedes. the aircon blowing to the hand is rather bad. space wise if its constantly a small family should be okay. BUT if there are old folks. a bit of a hit n miss for entering the rear and hitting the head.

To be honest, car parts are not very expensive throughout all the brands except those super cars of course, it is only expensive when the companies here inflate it many times the cost. Audi2016 5th Gear March 7, 2016 Share March 7, 2016 the aircon blowing to the hand is rather bad. space wise if its constantly a small family should be okay. The older folks will find it difficult to get in & out especially with the narrow opening of the rear doors.

BenTong Turbocharged March 7, 2016 Share March 7, 2016 XE 2.0D went for 172 999k with lifetime servicing last month Now at 159 999k, Wearnes has kept pace with absolute coe cat B drop, kudos to them for doing this unlike some other ADs XE like any new car model is always going to divide opinion. The ingenium for 2.0D will be available for the petrol version later this year. XE voted the Sgcarmart exec sedan of the year and received rave international reviews (arguably slight bias in some reviews) Think decent price for a 2.0l new engine with good specs than some of the other continental cars Sgcarmart also voted the Mitsubishi Outlander as the best SUV for the year. Hmmm...think they are better ones...

Audi2016 5th Gear March 7, 2016 Share March 7, 2016 what? 2k for that flimsy mechanism? Haha that's the figure I remembered when I was checking out the XE turbodiesel variant. I thought is the latch at the headrest area, more integrated and seamless feel, not such an ugly mechanism. So not worth it after watching this video. The way they exposed the metal underneath the boot lid in the video.. also feels very non premium.
