The Mitsuoka Rock Star. It looks like the 60s Chevy C2 Corvette but underneath the skin is the MX5 Miata. The 1.5L NA one.

It's actually on sale here in Singapore via some PI. See link below and scroll to the bottom to see who's selling. Price? $220,800 with COE. Glup...

Other PI selling the 1.5L Miata at $154K. https://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=11744

The Japanese review. Turn on CC/subs, settings choose auto-translate to English. If you dunno how, get a Millennia to do it for you. LoL...

Oh... It's also a limited run production. Only 220 units will be made and only 20 units will make it out of Japan to be sold. If you have $220K spare change...

Mitsuoka. Making fast looking slow cars, expensive looking not so expensive (but still overpriced) cars and just weird looking (but still slow) cars in general since 1996.

When people say "buy Japanese cars" they don't mean Mitsuoka.

The Japanese has very weird taste for cars. The modifications are very much on the exterior but not the engine cos I think it's out of respect for the original car maker, you know, between Japanese car makers.

But for the West or in America it's the other way around. They would keep the exterior but do a complete engine swap. The HU is still stock with the Mazda logo and all but it has a Chevy V8 and Chevy gb under the bonnet. LoL...

I think their obsession with this kinda of car with a chevy V8 is the closest they can get to a Shelby AC Cobra.

Nice!

Hope it will fly out of the showrooms for a longer non-limited production Run.

possibly a more powerful engine when the MX5 improves

100%. it's not just cars but clothing as well. japanese repro streetwear and denim brands do a lot with reproducing american work wear and military clothing. it's almost stockholm syndrome like.

the bombed the f**k outta us but we love them for that. true vintage american items can fetch a hefty sum in japan. but will cost you f**k all in other parts of the world..
