Chinese paper has more details on his vicious attack. Strangled the girl with both hands and use thumb to press her left eye until it bleeds and she passed out. Don't worry thanks to the judge he still has bright future to become a dentist. Good luck to all his future customers and girlfriends.

要求复合遭拒绝,牙科生恼羞成怒,先用双手猛掐女友颈项,再用拇指使力挤压她的左眼,直到左眼流血昏迷才停手。

After I saw the sentence on that Chinese dentist student who strangled and almost push the eyeball out on his ex-gf, I fully absolutely thoroughly agreed with what Miss Khan said.

Actually the whole thing is brown out of proportion.. Same goes to lky comment, same goes to hsk comment and etc.. That after the Raeeash comment is brought out that happened in 2018 and many people start bringing past case of minister also said something that is of rasist, who and who also said something is like rasist and etc?

I think that's the problem with our society now, every little thing that seems like little bit not to their liking.. Make police report, make it brown out of proportion, make everyone busy, make police busy, make politicians busy, make AGC busy and etc.. In the end waste time focusing on issues that is actually non existence and or does not actually impact anyone at all. What if these time could be spent to deal with other more important things like help to save people jobs, how to improve the economy and etc?

District Judge Marvin Bay noted that while probation was not appropriate in this case, Yin's "relative youth, his rehabilitative prospects and his lack of (previous convictions)" made community based-sentences "a viable option".

He said he was satisfied that Yin "is not at high risk of reoffending". However, he noted that the victim suffered a degree of psychological harm, as she suffers from insomnia and has been "haunted with nightmares" of Yin breaking into her house or assaulting her.

To Court, this is a MINOR offence!

In a rare move, the People's Action Party Women's Wing has weighed in on a court case, saying it is dismayed at the sentence a National University of Singapore (NUS) student received for trying to strangle his former girlfriend.

In a short statement on Tuesday (July 21), the PAP Women's Wing said it has also shared its concerns about the sentencing with the Minister for Home Affairs, "who has committed to look further into the matter".

Maybe this is why he got off lightly

Additional facts of the case revealed

Additional facts of the case, which revealed that Yin did not emerge from the incident unharmed, have come to light.

According to court documents, the victim’s stepfather punched and slapped Yin multiple times on his face, and used a cigarette butt to burn his face, near his right eye in the course of the confrontation.

Additionally, a large number of people, including 49 out of his 54 dentistry batchmates, gave testimonies of his character, leading the judge to conclude that his actions on the day of the offence was out of character.

Yin's detention order would involve him spending 12 days in prison.

I can't understand how those facts can lighten his sentences though.

How did the judge expect the stepfather to de-escalate the situation without resorting to force while her daughter was being strangled in front of his eyes?

I can also get 54 people to write me a testimonial that they have never ever seen me surfing porn but does it mean its the truth?
