Locknload 5th Gear May 11, 2021 Author Share May 11, 2021 ManU 1 (Greenwood) - Lei 2 (EPL - Home) New faces included Amad, Tuanzebe, VDB, Telles, Brendan Williams, Mata, Elanga with DDG in goal apart from Matic, Bailly and Greenwood, who scored in the 15th minute off Amad's cut-back to level the score till half-time, after Leicester took the lead in the 10th minute. A good show by the replacements except for Brendan Williams, who gave away sloppy passes in dangerous areas due to lack of match-fitness. A double change in the 67th minute of Cavani and Rashford for Greenwood and Elanga gave life to the attack but it was Leicester who scored immediately thereafter, with Bruno coming on for Amad later but it was the best and well-deserving ManC who won the EPL, with Leicester taking the 3 points to qualify for the Champions League next season. Locknload 5th Gear May 18, 2021 Author Share May 18, 2021 ManU 1 (Cavani) - Fulham 1 (EPL - Home) With the in-form De Gea in goal for Henderson and Tuanzebe in place for Bailly, it was a sublime goal in the 15th minute by Cavani, when he caught Fulham's goalie off his line and simply lobbed the ball into the net to the delight of the 10K home fans to put them in the mood. It was 1-0 till half-time. A change in the 2nd half with Rashford for Mctominay to add some pizzazz to the attack but it was Fulham who levelled the score in the 76th minute, with Ole bringing on Amad for Greenwood followed by VDB for Cavani but to no avail. Locknload 5th Gear May 26, 2021 Author Share May 26, 2021 ManU 1 (Cavani) - Villareal 1(the Europa Cup Champions after penaly shoot-out - Gdansk ) Started with DDG in goal and Cavani as CF with Rashford, Bruno and Greenwood in the usual 4-2-3-1 formation led by Pogba and Mctominay in midfield. It was Villareal's striker, Gerard Moreno, who drew first-blood in the 29th minute. Although we had more than 60% possession, it was difficult to penetrate their solid defence led by Pau Torres (who is on our transfer target to pair with Maguire) and they were content to park the bus in defending their lead till the end of half-time. Ole has to change the set-up in attack as Rashford gave too much of the ball away in the final third, with no passes made to Cavani from either Bruno or Pogba. It was Cavani who levelled the score off Luke Shaw's corner in the 55th minute and the extra time after 90 minutes was even-stevens, with penalties to decide the winner and DDG failed to convert the final kick. It cements Ole as the "nearly-man" and his failure win a trophy in his almost 3 years and injecting fresh legs during normal time confirms his lack of tactics when there was so much firepower on the bench to alter the course of the game.
