M1 network connectivity is not that good, but still better than SIMBA. For good network consider Singtel then Starhub. Both are more or less about the same though.

Hey guys, for those on SIMBA, I have some questions. Was thinking of getting the SIMBA SuperRoam MY.

- If in MY, can receive SG landline calls?

- if in MY, can receive SMS from SG for OTP purposes?

- if in MY, can make normal calls to MY phone number?

- if in MY, can make normal calls back to SG?

no more hidden, it has been on their FB page. Exactly the same offer but zym gives 2 $100 vouchers to buy selected items.

I just switched from M1 after 40 year? to Simba. I find their service have dropped tremendously and their network also suck. Recently I activated Data passport for Europe. No signal I'm many locations. They seems to be focusing on selling phones than plans.

Main reason for Simba is senior only pays $5 pm. 20 GB and 1 GB Malaysia roaming. Good for old folks like me. So far ok, didn't experience any network issues.

No signal in many locations when overseas depends on the overseas network nothing to do with M1. Though M1 local network generally not as good as Singtel and Starhub.

When I was in Korea. My 4G eSIM roaming plan didn't enjoy South Korea 5G network at all.  But it did when I roamed on my Starhub line (on separate occasions). In Japan, my Starhub's 5G roaming plan could access their 5G all the time. Didn't try on Yoodo as their Japan roaming plan is crazily expensive.

I've used all the telco switching lines frequently, some telco tie up with more overseas operators as roaming partners while some may only tieup with one in that specific country. A lot will depends on the connectivity of that specific telco. Nothing really to do with our local company. 

Just like Simba tie up with Celcom in Malaysia while Vivifi tie up with Digi, U-Mobile, Celcom and Redone tie up with Digi, U-Mobile, Maxis.

On paper yes but if the data roaming plan is too cheap or free, the overseas partner is often not the guy with the best network. Someone has to pay someone for using the network.

Just wondering if local telco is not paying enough, will overseas partners use mobile throttling and deprioritization to ensure more profitable customers are given priority?

Went to Waterloo, Canada for training with a group of guys.

Colleague on StarHub. Singtel,  all got roaming signal at training site.

My m1 roaming is sucky, no signal, until reach hotel. Napoleon is still there haunting m1. 😞

thanks for sharing! I'm just curious because my case is very specific - my phone is a 5G phone imported from Japan i.e. never officially sold in Sg. Apparently it can only access 5G networks in JP so I've been sticking to 4G in Sg. Just backside itchy to try 5G if I travel to JP.
