I also considered the Deerma Dehumidifier before deciding on LifePro since they are priced around the same. Just gotta make sure yours is from a local seller with the three pin plug and English menu. Why I decided on LifePro, reviews pretty even so local brand it shall be.

Sealing will make it worse. I got one side sealed though. Rh in the air will be the same regardless of air flow. Some air flow might be good to prevent molds as air in storeroom is usually quite still and mold will start to build up.

Singapore is so short of water we don't have to buy so much water from Msia and stop all their complaining.

That's what I told my mum actually. Next time Malaysia cut off our water supply we will have to drink water from our dehumidifier. 😆

Water taken from the air is the cleanest water.

Can even use as battery water if don't dare to drink.

If no need battery water put in the radiator.

The radiator won't rust.

Should definitely get a dehumidifier to prevent mold from growing. It's hard to get rid of mold spores and it'll just keep coming back. Don't have to get a high end one. There are those lesser than 200 that I feel does a pretty good job too. Investing on a is one of my best purchase for 2021. I got it because of a booklice/mold issue that I had.

Take note that the Dehumidifier also consumes quite some amount of power. Novita specs show approx 740W. Which is the same as an split unit 9000btu on low/mid power setting. Might as well switch on the Aircon in this case.

My dehumidifier don’t run all the time even though it is in a bed room.

It starts running when humidity exceed 60%.

It stops running when humidity hit 50%.

I have a Tanita Hygrometer to cross check

I bought a long one for my store room but it did nothing about the dampness and mold smell. A store room with porous plaster walls/ceiling is too big to be adequately heated by such rods. Those rods works best inside a small wardrobe. The best solution is to get a dehumidifier (using thermoelectric) that can remove about 1 liter of water every few days. consumes negligible electricity. Easy to service one, usually just requires a replacement of the fan inside if spoilt.

Water from one of these dehumidifier condenses on aluminum cooling blocks. I think the distilled water collected would have too much metal in it for human consumption. So best avoided. We all know what aluminum can do to our brains.

I bought directly from taobao, in fact I bought 3.

Other local platforms also sell but most of them are just taobao resellers so prices are marked up quite a bit.

The Yangzi dehumidifier is available on Shopee as well for less than SGD60 but there are quite a few reviews saying it doesn't do much to lower humidity and can only bring RH down to about 60+ though on paper it says you can set it to lower. Do read a lot of reviews before deciding on one. If your budget is 200, I think you can afford to go for a more reliable one which can bring the RH down to 30, 40, 50 range.

When I just saw the first photo, I tot is a nesspresso coffee machine leh. Then I wondering why @Jamesc wanna do with a coffee machine for a dehumidifier.

Then when I read finish the post, haha. a legit dehumidifier. hahahahahha.
