Stratovarius Turbocharged September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 FF is no longer the hip thing, medium format is. lol But still out of reach to many casual photographers like us. Anyway, i used to swear by FF but have since moved to M43. i think its a good balance between FF DSLR and smartphone system. As the saying goes, the best camera is the one that's with you. Some ff camera are already very small like Sony a7c. I feel that m43 size adv is not really obvious esp if you use similar lens, a f2.8 ff lens is equal to a m43 f1.4 lens. Jamesc Hypersonic September 13, 2021 Share September 13, 2021 Since she wouldn't move the least I could do is give her one shot lah. With my camera. 2 hours ago, DOBIEMKZ said: Not her fault. It's your poor composition of the scene. You could crop her away from the framing. Or you could move to another spot to frame the scooter better.

Not sure if you have use m43 system before but the weight difference is alot. more so on the lens. And if you are talking about conversion, a 100mm lens on m43 is equal to a 200mm lens on FF. F stop is the same for both systems if you are talking about light but if you are talking about DoF effect, yes. m43 @ f1.4 will be similar to f2.8 on FF. Overall i just prefer m43 over FF. It just so much lighter and versatile than my canon FF. My 17mm weighs next to nothing and my 150mm is still less than half the weight of my canon 85mm. but one big con is low light. m43 will have more grain at higher iso. So i will normally bring out my FF if shooting at night. I'm not trying to start another m43 vs apsc vs ff vs mf debate. Fuji makes very good apsc cameras too and alot of blind tests proved that photographers cant tell the difference. Gears are just tools to achieve the results. There is only preference. No good or bad.

Fuji makes very good apsc cameras too and alot of blind tests proved that photographers cant tell the difference. Gears are just tools to achieve the results. There is only preference. No good or bad. I used to have Olympus e1, the grandfather of m43 🙂 the two stop aperture difference in the lens compensate for both dof and iso, assuming the sensor tech is identical. A f1.4 m43 lens really equates to f2.8 ff in almost all aspects. Once you understand that, you will realise what you are trading for. Btw, the Sony 35mm f2.8 is 120g same weight as Olympus 17mm f1.8 and 2.8 has wide aperture than the Olympus effective 3.6, meaning it has less dof for better bokeh and the ff sensor has 2 stops better snr than m43. I agree that if you want to go like really light, m43 can go to 400g with lens but it is still a camera. The only difference I feel is the m43 bodies can go lighter but that is about it. So lets say you have the GM5 which is below 300g? That is only 2xxg lighter than sony A7c. The difference is less if you use DSLR shaped M34 bodies from olympus.
