What a defeatist statement and attitude...

"While the country has not detected any community transmission of the Omicron variant yet, it is only a matter of time before this happens, said Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong at a press conference on Tuesday (Dec 14)..."

He's just being realistic and laying out the situation as they are determined to fully opened up the country with more VTL arrangements and carrying on business as usual. They even want you to hurry back to the office since WFH is obviously a failure. But not to resume your water-cooler discussions or office affairs okay? [laugh] Only work. Socialising not allowed.

Poked is one thing, but the cost of all the test to enter JB and return  is not worth it for just food and massage.

Thats why MMTF said they open up to all is more for people to go msia or come sg to reunite with family, not for people to go shopping. Lol.

too many vaccine within a year is crazy, especially for young healthy adults.. The death and hospital rate of this group just don't justify to jab 4 times in a year.

But i saw the tv news reported many many youngsters cheong to take their booster jab when announced open up to them?! Lol.

I believe they would not make it so easy for people who take china vaccine, high chance will need to take more booster jab to maintain the fully vaccinated status as compared to those who take mRNA vaccine?!

China vaccines will be tricky to count. Since they apparently have no data for antibodies or immunity drop after 2 or 3 jabs, while mRNA has those data of between 5 to 7 months.

I doubt the China vaccines manufacturers bother about data.

One new variant like omicron and it screws them up.

Yup, i would think that our natural immune system would adapt after the first "fully-vaccinated" dose received and from then on becomes fairly self-sufficient. Maybe top-up after a year or more, and that also after measuring antibody levels, like what is done for Hep.

Blindly shooting up 3-4 doses a year is unheard of.

They follow what some countries do and they also do la. Back then when some countries got high vaccination rate, they follow. When some countries go for booster jab, they follow. And soon they would also follow when other countries go for 4th booster jab. Lol.

I think all the while, moderna always have many stocks. Maybe they should not continue to order so much lo. When there are many stocks, then gahment would keep chasing people to go take jab, and take jab as fast as possible without thinking if it is really necessary?!

That's why keep on encouragin us to jab.. Don't use by certain frame, will expire. Like those vaccine sent to africa. Expiry too soon, not enough time to deploy.

There is a recent Lancet paper on when to take 3rd dose of Sinovac.

When the gap btw 2nd and 3rd dose extend to 8 mths, antibody level drops below threshold (I.e. No protection)

If this “From 1 January 2022, up to 50% of employees who can work from home are allowed to return to the workplace.” is ok, then how about resuming 50% or full physical meet-the-people sessions from 1 January 2022? If no, why not?

COVID-19 multi-ministry task force co-chair Gan Kim Yong said authorities recognise that such an arrangement is “not ideal and not sustainable in the long run, as face-to-face interaction is important for team dynamics, as well as other operational considerations”.

A year or more ago I used the word "inevitable" but got shot down by some....

Damned if they do, damned if they don't but they were obviously a bunch of boy scouts, albeit they forgot early on.

Maybe need some kind of one dragon service to compensate all those poking hor? 😁 I won't be surprise JB businesses are thinking of ways to attract back their SG customers.

For some guys who kept kanna poked in their arms from booster shots, they need to do some poking at "respectable" JB businesses to balance themselves out mentally, most importantly, physically 🤣

It's good they do that because it'll help vaccine injured people like me from a herd immunity's perspective.

However, that wouldn't stop ivory tower from making me lose my job once booster mandate is cast in iron.
