1st red card.. spore player fell into their trap.. make opponents players angry.. to get them red carded! Sigh

The referee should have consulted his assistants when he did not have a full view of the incident. He only saw the last part where Safuwan was pushing the Indon player. He did not question why Safuwan had reacted. His back was turned when the altercation happened.

In such international tournaments, referees usually consult their assistants when they do not have a full view before meted out the cards.

Look at the final stats. Indon players committed more fouls than SG. Indon has been consistently committed more fouls in the tournament so far but gone unpunished.

This is poor poor officiating.

Typical official from middle East who wants the limelight more than anybody on the pitch.

In such highly charged game, official should do their best to contain the emotions. Talk to respective captains and players to calm things down.

BTW why is the competition using Omani official? Isn't there more established league in Korea and Japan where referee may be of higher standard?

Cheaper is it?

Oh well, we didn't win but I salute SG players for putting all their hearts in this game. IKhsan didn't do too badly as a goalie 😂

I can resonate all the disappointment and anger here.

Overall me and son did have a fun and exciting times watching Infront of the tv. Shouting and screaming whenever we scored. 😁

Chill and xalm down everyone. 😁

Imo, the first red card our player did raise an arm (a swing) to shove his opponent away. Deservedly second yellow.

Second red. Last defender. Preventing a scoring opponunity.  No dispute.

Third red. as of second red gk last defender. He was smart to foul outside the box.

Our goals all from set pieces relative to Indonesia open play.

If only we have scored the penalty necerything would be different.

The standard of refereeing was really poor. Even Singapore penalty shld not hv been awarded as the Indo player cleared the ball.

That said, more decisions went against Singapore than for it. Stonewall penalty denied, questionable 2nd yellow card for Safuwan which meant it was backs to the wall performance n that in turn created the situation where gaps meant further 2 red cards which admittedly were correctly awarded. Also the 2nd Indo goal was clearly offside.

I don’t see Indonesia overcoming either Thailand or Vietnam as they made heavy work of beating Singapore.

i think most later fouls by sg players were due to having to take more risk and the feeling that the referee was kelong. although the penalty might have turned the game around for sg.

i feel that all the red cards are not a shame to the sg team. rather that this game tested the mettle in them. sure the singaporean player in them finally showed up with the own goal ultimately, but for me the game ended at the 90 mins. so in my heart i congratulate sg team for the "draw". i dont care about the ET.

The other two fouls, I think Irfan one should be yellow only. Sunny one, is a clear red. But this SG team really played their hearts out.

Even the news reporter also picked up on what I mentioned.

https://www.straitstimes.com/sport/football/suzuki-cup-eight-man-singapore-out-after-semi-final-defeat-by-indonesia

"Incredibly, the visitors committed 18 fouls up to the 83rd minute without getting a single yellow card."
