Whether it is private or HDB, many people don't mind their house located infront of a major road junction. At least it is unblock view mah.

Many use to say, crazy face open road, so ulu, noisy etc. But all those bought 10+ years back today still appreciate 😂

Last time FH shop house also no takers.

people who buy to max the GFA are your typical singapore lang.

I know of an ex colleague who also bought one many years ago, semi D 3500sft land, built up is 6500sft.  his "house" looks more like a school building or office building .  i dont know which other idiot will ever want to pay for GFA of such an ugly looking house.  but that said, if he carves out 15 rooms, and rent to students , can turn it into mini dorm.  wahhahhahhhahhahhhah

On the other hand, i tell my architect that i want loads of empty space and the feeling of openness, light and air circulating, my GFA only 3500sft after rebuild.   oh no, what a loser i am!!!!  why am i not the iconic Singapore kiasu???!!!!  why why why, lost easily $1.5mil in value, boo hoo hoo...

muayhahhahhahhaha

space is true luxury.

But i guess with 3 or more kids, helper, guest room and study, u need more rooms bah.

then really not worthwhile to put in $2-$3 mil and then children will ask to vacate when they are old and half dead.. but who knows what will happen then.

They have to save and buy their own homes. Meanwhile can rent out for money.

Talking about landed....i have a question, will you buy if a 40 year old landed with 60 yrs left...and one of the main purpose is to leave the house to kids in the future.

let's say my kids are 10-15 yrs old, for them they will not see out their life in the house if they get to live to their 70's or 80's...

it will be tough for them at that age without a house as the lease will be up...

normally 99 yrs lease, Gov will take back the land right?

Will depend on means and needs.

2 extreme spectrum as an example.

1. Geylang FH 1 Bedder - 600k ( youngling working in CBD)

2. LH 10-year count-down landed house - 600k (employment agency boss needing to house his family and foreign labour at the same time)

Most of us are somewhere in-between.

some people i cannot understand also.

Just outside my sis condo, got this whole row of 1990+ year, 3 storey terrace . Floor space is probably 3000psf type already. White with terracotta tile roof, the whole row is quite cohesive looking and definitely not chui.

2 years ago, someone bought one of the IT, tore it down, and now rebuilt it up to maximise GFA.

1.2-1.5mil rebuild for a IT... wtf. It's not even a corner terrace. And now the whole row's cohesion is destroyed.

Got photo?

im guessing it must be a nondescript house, no design elements, rectangular, everything also max out.

like those go buffet must eat until so full that will vomit
