Why we are around the same age and my baby is only 18 months 😢

For winter travel, don’t save money on winter clothing.

Any good one will be > $500.

Dear @SiLangKia and @kobayashiGT

You see how difficult having babies and trying to arrange a holiday in Japan?

Please come Japan before you get a wife and MIL and babies,

Better still find a wife in JP or bring a gf and make babies in JP!

I have many lomentic hotels to recommend to you.

:D

Babies grow so quickly

I will like to rent or borrow the warm clothing instead of spending a fortune

I hope so

I am still paying for mine.

I wish they grow up quicker so I can stop paying as they are so expensive.

A lot of costs but maybe because I’m late to the game I only have one, I’m happily paying 😛

but I rather pay for more long term stuff .. we bought some clothes that were only worn once 😔

The more you have they cheaper they come!

yes, is going to be tough, apart from the cot, there are other tons of things to bring along as well for the kid...milk, flask, napkins, sanitizer, and whatnot related to the kiddo. Apart from that, u are travelling in Winter, the winter clothing is totally different..you would want to bring additional warm(thicker) clothing as well, all these will add to the weight of the bag...yr bag might be pack to the brim.

I just came back from a Scandinavia trip in Mar where 4 of us had 4 bags pack to the full, each was around 20 kilos. It was a pretty tiring carrying them around, lucky my kids were able to carry and arrange for all the check in and collection of the luggage at the airports and airbnb...

if you are going to places with snow...it's even more demanding to move around...see picture...it was really a drag, walking on the muddy snow and need to have water proof shoes for such conditions.

I understand it's just your wife and you plus the kid for the trip, hence, easily 3 full bags and if you bring along a 10kg cot, will add additional burden to look after and carry it together with 3 large luggage (just an estimate from my side) maybe for you could be 2 luggage.

talk to your wife and prioritize and discuss rationally can the 2 of you carry bags that could be more than 20kg each together with a 10kg cot? Else prioritize what is absolutely necessary to bring along and make sure both of you are comfortable in carrying the heavy luggage....don't get injured in the process, safety 1st, else there goes yr vacation...

Work together with wifey and see what you guys can manage...

All the best Bro...  :a-m1212:

I think if wife breastfeed then got substantially fewer things lar... that's my experience...

But that snow looks formidable leh...

Set at the foot of the Niseko Annupuri Mountain, Hilton Niseko Village is the perfect location to enjoy a range of exciting outdoor activities, and we even offer ski-in and ski-out access.

The Niseko Village gondola is adjacent to the hotel, bringing you to the top of the mountain in seven minutes. Hilton Niseko Village has been the winner of 'Japan's Best Ski Hotel' at the World Ski Awards 4 years consecutively (2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016).

Which of the store value cards do you recommend?

SUICA or the ICOCA card?

https://www.getaroundjapan.jp/archives/9200#:~:text=Suica can be used to,%2C vending machines%2C and buses.

Suica and ICOCA are both IC cards, which are commonly used prepaid cards for transportation and shopping in Japan. Although they have similar features, they also have some differences.

Regional Differences

Suica is mostly used in Tokyo and surrounding regions, whereas ICOCA is mostly used in Western Japan, such as Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and so on.

Summary

To sum up, it is suggested that you purchase a Suica card if you plan to travel in the Tokyo area/Kanto and an ICOCA card if you plan to travel in the West Japan area/Kansai.

Additionally, since the functions of both cards are similar, you can also choose based on current promotions or purchasing channels at the time of purchase.
