Same can happen at nursing home...

CCTV allowing live streaming for next of kin to monitor as and when will be ideal to keep practitioners in check...but I tink the law favours privacy...

Cna pick it up now.

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/kinderland-preschool-woodlands-mart-alleged-abuse-videos-teacher-spf-ecda-3729716

Quoted from cna article.

The mother of one of the children seen in the footage told CNA that she only found out about the alleged abuse after the videos were circulated in a chat group for mothers.

The woman, who declined to be named to protect the identity of her son, was not aware of who recorded the footage or when the incidents occurred.

However, she remembered that the teacher had been in charge of her son's class last year, and recalled an incident where he had expressed sadness upon seeing the teacher.

"There was a time when I sent him to school, as I was putting his socks (on) outside the centre, it was the teacher who was in charge (of) receiving kids in the morning," she said.

"He looked at her, suddenly turned to me and … wanted to cry.

"I asked him: 'Are you okay?' His eyes (were) suddenly teary and (he) wanted to cry."

Unquoted.

😡😡😡 Poor boy.

It is always that one or two black sheep.

If ppl are unhappy with their job, just leave, why take it out on innocent toddlers?

The preschool management is also questionable. How do they manage their preschool teachers?

Someone mentioned there is no CCTV installed in their premises. The law should be amended to make CCTV a requirement for childcare centres/nurseries.

The whistle blower likely to be one of the form or co-form teacher from the settings.

Kudo to the person videoing the incidents.

Even if the law does not allow recordings to be made available for next of kin or parent, it should be made available for internal monitoring. And the footage should be backup off-site in case there is a fire, haven forbid, to aid investigation.

they are not called 'teacher' and used to have a lot of these aunties working in childcare or preschool, but now slowly phrase out these aunties as they are training and recruiting more qualified preschool teacher.

Kinderland should be a better pre-school, they are taking in lesser toddlers per teacher, so they can care better.

Haiyaa. spend so much money for pre-school only to know teacher bully the kids.

School fees should not be a determinant of services when come to a child well being.

Anyway kinderland isn't the top tier pte preschool. The better should be  Superland not kinderland.

Class size should be around there. My boy pre-school got 3 teachers to a class of 12. One form teacher and 2 co teachers.

hope all preschool would have cctv installed, partly also good for parents to monitor their kids while at work.

My son pre school has CCTV at the main hall, entrance and registration office.

I hope a police report was filed. Leaving it to an internal investigation, at most the "teacher" will be disciplined or sacked. This type of abuse need to be criminally persecuted.
Kinderland is not a cheap or low-end kindergarten. They need to do better. Parents with kids in Kinderland, need to take action with their wallets and by taking their kids out of Kinderland. This is the only language Kinderland know.

Firstly, I definitely don't condone such behaviors.

But sad to say, who have the patience to actually take care of the toddlers nowadays, which are so well taken care of at home?

Let's just say that I also only have patience for my own kids, and zero tolerances towards others. hahahahaha.

Even when my kid when he is in childcare when he is much younger, I have heard parents commenting to the teachers that they need to let their kids drink more water / eat more, and the teachers were commenting that the kids were not drinking much. The parents were commenting that their kids have drank much more at home, but you will need to sit besides him, sing and act out the "wheels on the bus" song and then coax him. The teacher and me are both wide eyed.

I cannot offer more solutions for this. If we only want "real" passion pre-school teachers, maybe we can only open up about 30-50 schools at best (and this is an optimistic figure). Both parents have to work and definitely have to put their kid in a child care. So definitely cannot evaluate all the pre teachers and slow down the hiring process, which is already in very high demand. I am sorry to say that my kid also did not enjoy his pre-school days.

Judging from the current situation, my advise to young couples is don't come out with young ones, the situation in Singapore now really not suitable.

The new citizens that can bring in their elders from home country to help take care of their young ones are handling the situation much better. Our own elders still hard at work to manage the high retirement costs in Singapore.

OK, ready to get shoot liao. Hahahahahaha.
