Look for those which are 3000W or so with a double shell, metal parts inside (it's ok to have plastic outside).

I currently use a Cornell one. I like that it's SS inside and the shell outside prevents an accidental burn. 

The lid works well. Doesn't taper inwards at the top  Only downside is that it's spout tends to be bit messy if u are pouring large amounts out (like transferring into another pot). 

Around 50 dollars without discount. 

I quite fussy one, I actually went to HN and try all of them out. Lol.

Dont vendors/sellers anticipate this and inflated their prices beforehand?

2024 is only a couple of months away. If want to stock up it should be done when gst was still 7%.

Anyway 1%-2% increase in gst is a lot only when you buy property or buy car. If you use the platform vouchers in the online shopping apps you should be able to offset that 1%. If that matters a lot to you, that is.

Dont over-buy just for the sake of gst increase. Just lookout for a better deal post-Xmas, post-CNY or whatever.

Black Friday sales retailers will mark up prices for ppl to buy Xmas presents. Post-Xmas sales you will see a big drop in prices cos obviously retailers had hit sales target. It is not really "sales" for black friday. It is actually a "bloodbath" retailers take out the parang and get ready to chop carrot heads. They should really call it a Black Friday Bloodbath.

But I doubt black friday sales will be like in the past. This video although taken 1year ago things have yet to turn around or the constant inflation has signs of slowing. Imagine that middle income families in the US is going to the food bank for food? Not just the US is facing inflation but globally everyone is facing the same issue. Ppl who used to lived comfortably with dual income but now struggle to make ends meet weekly.

 

Sgporeans are lucky.
