The trend is going to stay for the next decade or so at least, but i predict it will all halt at some point for a return back to traditional. Just my gut feeling.

Having said that, I think the Chinese brands are slaying Tesla and onto an upwards trend 😁 better prices, better features, and better quality eventually

Chinese brands already slaying Tesla in its home market.

Rather than feature, I see a lot of gimmicks similar to TB UI.

Quality likely on par.

BYD Seal vs Tesla Model 3. I see a lot of fake leather in BYD Seal.

Dunno which manufacturer TS was referring to but my recent experience with Tesla was extremely irritating how reliant I was on the touch screen

- for opening the glove compartment

- for adjusting the angle of the air conditioning vents

- touchscreen to select drive (granted there are backup buttons but on the ceiling)

Adjust air con vents must press touchscreen up up down down or not?

There is a graphic representation of the air vents and you just drag around the desired vent

To me , it is just lazy car design and cost cutting all masquerading as "High Tech" "Car of the future" marketing...

I am sure a large portion of the design budget for traditional car makers goes into designing each model and generation of car interior and buttons. Even if recent years we we see sharing of parts across various car models, at the least the effort is there.

Now with everything controlled with screen, every new generation of cars just need to transfer the same screen or even relace the screen. The software just need some tweaking.

Look at the Tesla dashboard. What is there to even design. Flat smooth surfaces and plug one big screen only.

IMHO.
There is no GPS signal in tunnels.
Should use app and bluetooth OBD2 to tap from ECU.

My car got no ECU and no OBD2, so gotta rely on GPS. In tunnel, just agak-agak using engine rpm and speedo info.

Next time maybe no more staff to shout it.  🤣

Self serve inspection.
Drive there, tap to pay, move along, end of test,  send pass/fail.  🤣

Any idea which inspection centre can see the vehicle weight easily ??
