This one also stupid. They think flying aeroplane? The buttons should be somewhere more ergonomic and accessible.

Stupid to eliminate the mechanical latch for the glove compartment in the first place. Like the door handle and vents. Just adding costs and additional point of potential failures.

but can have buttons and door release handle...i'm very ok to just use the handle. still need to use hands to open the damn door. whats the point of a button. unless you tell me its like a lift, just press button and no need further physical action

Few years ago, my friend always kept saying that automated EVs with AI will revolutionise singapore public transport.

But my argument was that that's what Grab/Uber/Zig has already done. Match customers to drivers. Just that the drivers cannot do 24h driving. But they can be granular to the fact they can drop u off exactly at the point u want to be dropped. Can navigate confusing hdb carpark lanes etc where GPS signal maybe weak. Recognising high demand spots and patterns on their own.
Granted these are flesh and bone intellects.
So the efficiency gain is already mostly realised once these apps came about.

Whatever efficiency gain subsequently will be more marginal.

McLaren has electric door release button.

The key hole (just in case car no battery) is at undercarriage.

Electric button doors don't appeal to me either

Don't see it as innovative to take away the act of pulling on a door handle. It's a door...

Contrast this to the G Wagon's door - you have to slam it!

Same as Mercedes Benz W107...Door are Long & Heavy, heavier than G-Wagon.

IMHO.
There is no GPS signal in tunnels.
Should use app and bluetooth OBD2 to tap from ECU.

Not really.

Leapmotor is following Tesla

https://cn.leapmotor.com/C10-aggregation.html

The trend is going to stay for the next decade or so at least, but i predict it will all halt at some point for a return back to traditional. Just my gut feeling.

Having said that, I think the Chinese brands are slaying Tesla and onto an upwards trend 😁 better prices, better features, and better quality eventually
