Woah... I like the same stuff as you do - organ meat + red meat... hard to resist... heh!

Some places are really more for eating, like Xiamen. With the many lanes dedicated to snacks and seafood and available from morning till late night, really non-stop eating during the few days there. I did walk quite abit, but not possible to negate the amount of eating. If you going there, one food must try is the 姜母鸭, really out of this world. This dish is available elsewhere like in Taiwan also, but the way it is cooked in Xiamen is different as it is almost a dry dish unlike with alot of liquid in Taiwan version. If want to tabao back home, must tabao from the restaurants there instead of retail outlets in mall and airport, flavour really no fight.

I usually don’t gain much weight for Japan trips, easily 20-25k steps a day. But road trip/ cheap ride hailing in places with lots of good food and that is it, habbis, it is yogurt for breakfast and sometimes dinner for weeks and daily 5km walk till I go back to pre-trip weight.

Old liow, cannot afford to keep putting on weight, it will lead to a lot of health issues down the road.

Actually I have reservation about food safety in China be it the Beijing or Chengdu trips after hearing so much about 预制菜,which has become a reason for those thinking about migrating. Never really feel comfortable even when eating in restaurants in malls. But Xiamen is different as most of the food were cooked on site, even those street food. The last dinner I have there was in a seafood restaurant which has signage outside its kitchen welcoming customers to view how its cooks do up the dishes behind glass partition. The food variety is also alot and really suits our palate, no surprise since alot of our ancestors were from there. If you happen to be nearby like GZ or XZ can just do a 3 day detour to this little city and eat to your hearts content haha.

You're referring to fake food made from non-consumable materials? Like the milk powder scandal?

Another reason why I have some reservations visiting China... spend money still must worry about whether I am eating fake food? And wherever I go must be careful so I don't have pay 'school fees'... I rather take money elsewhere...

Just to update that the refund process completed today. Received the paid amount (original ticket prices) in the form of two e-vouchers in full. The claiming process under Scoot really nothing to fault, simple and fast.
