I think it's usually the organisation of the air battle which is complex and really a complex game of positioning, 3D chess.

The IAF may have been overconfident and underprepared for such retaliation.

Afterall, both sides aren't really participating in multinational Air engagement exercises. So not really well trained IMO.

There's a reason why so many of our fighter pilots are constantly training overseas.

Indian Air force are well known flying Coffin.  They will drop regardless got enemy or not.

From various source in you tube.  I think it got to do with the wide radar jamming capability of the China fighter. Something like that.

haha we all know how certain cultures operate. Don't need to say too much.

20 years ago, when i was working in the hospitals. There used to be a Pakistani doctor that was in our department as a fellow (usually they come for 1-2 years to get some experience in a more developed country).
During a drinking session, he told my then colleague/classmate that if he ever was going to die, he would take a few Indian nationals with him.

That's an educated upper middle class guy. 😅

maybe best example of...

give the best planes on paper also cannot max use.

actually more to do with the Indian Air Force doesnt have the SEAD capability needed to deal with enemy air defence radars.

our F16s many carry the big back ridge for SEAD.

non sead... no back ridge.

Doesn't matter if you have the best weapons, need the brains and savvy to use them well.

I doubt the Rafales are lousy aircraft.

The French defence industrial complex can make some good stuff.

Nonetheless, a mini endorsement of Chinese military tech which was never proven before. The Indian Air Force have some very good pilots too. Years ago, according to internet hear say, it was said that when the RSAF had an air exercise with the IAF supposedly aged Mig 29s, they couldn't win.

you probably heard about the recent case in Aus where 2 med workers boasted of killing jewish patients.... think they got into some pretty serious problems for that.

Regarding this war, a bangla worker of mine  "explained" to me that "few people die" in the terror attack is "small thing only"....but its all Indias fault. I just keep quiet, things will never change there, the conflict is religious in nature 😒

given their large populations, and the fact that both sides have nukes, making any war at most a limited conflict.

I do say global geopolitics wise, it's a small thing.

I'm pretty sure that both sides when going for this kinda exercise, will never demonstrate their full capabality in terms of technical advantages.

Say if u can engage beyond horizon at 100km, there will be an artificial limit imposed to say 60km then engage.

unless u are fighting against big brother in training like in USA or within a pure NATO kind of scenario. Or u both use the same equipment. F16 with AIM-120 etc. then no need to pretend lah.

You typically don't visit someone for exercise and then wipes them off. Bad manners leh. Thus even Philippine F50 shot down usaf F22. Some Host country typically sets exercise scenarios that just about give them a victory.

But the Indian Air Force is definitely underperforming. Last conflict also kenna shot down by Pakistan.

I underlined and bolded this for emphasis. I guess the hatred for each other runs along nationalistic not religious boundaries

Yes I didn't think too much about it until i wrote this post from my recollection.

But it's not just nationalistic.
It's not commonly reported in Western media, but kashmir is run much like Xinjiang.

most wars have different reasons, Russia-Ukraine also different...

but underlying effect is that (many) people (who otherwise can live longer lives) will die... 😭

I concur...the common denominator of such conflicts is the common folks to get the full brunt...destructions then despairs...if not death...🙏😔

In 2008 attack on the Taj Mahal Hotel the Indian army used Lee Enfield .303 while the terrorists used AK47s!

But the problem was the terrorists were running around the hotel all night before the Indian army anti terrorists team could arrive the next day to take back the hotel from the 3 or 4 terrorist!

If you haven't seen it the film Hotel Mumbai is a really good film.
