I seriously think the profit margin for selling cars in SG is very high is it.

Our market so small. Yet new comers keep trying to squeeze in.

Singapore all along has been used as a marketing point. They will start selling to other markets (for higher end products) citing them as Sg top seller. Not just cars but from medical to even weapons.

The Leapmotor C10 looks to be a half-baked attempt by Stellantis to get a low cost - high tech China vehicle into the world market. Whilst the C10 is doing well in China, it's not selling well in the rest of the world. The poor sales numbers in Oz and Malaysia for the past year are a clear indication that Stellantis/Leapmotor has a lot of work to do to improve:

(a) Ride and handling. Claimed Maserati tuning is a joke. Stellantis needs to get their French engineers from Citroën or Renault to help out Leapmotor;

(b) User interface. No physical buttons for most common items that users interact with.  Examples are volume and AC (temperature, fan speed, wind direction) controls. Xiaomi's SU7/YU7 offer a unique solution to this whilst keeping the bare bones design from China. Xiaomi offers tactile buttons and dials that have wireless interface with the vehicle control system. These tactile buttons and dials can be placed in the driver's cockpit at strategic locations for each access and complete specific tasks - without the need to dig into the complex infotainment system. This is an important safety feature as it keeps the driver's eyes on the road. I.e. adjustment of AC temperature.

(c) Fixing the Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The current ADAS has many complaints from lots of reviewers. It's overtly sensitive, with lots of beeps and bongs to drive one mad. Stellantis/Leapmotor needs to keep working on this and improve the driving experience for current and future owners. Whilst there's be an update, it's still got a long way to go. An important feature is to allow for adjustments/turn off some annoying beeps/bongs and retain those setting for each driver profile is sorely missing.

(d) No Apple CarPlay or AndriodAuto. This is going to be the deal breaker for most. Leapmotor tried to copy Tesla and failed miserably in their implementation outside of China. Because C10 doesn't have CarPlay or AndriodAuto, it's turning off most potential buyers. The built in satellite navigation is poor and whilst there is a work around in terms of screen mirroring - this missing feature is costing lost sales to Stellantis.

The C10 is generation one vehicle from Stellantis / Leapmotor to the rest of the world. There are important lessons to be learned for them to be successful in sales.

@kobayashiGT Not wrong there and Leapmotor is going to swing for the fences with the next small SUV called the B10. The baby brother to the C10.

This C-class SUV has the following dimensions.

Length: 4,515 mm

Width: 1,885 mm

Height: 1,655 mm

Wheelbase: 2,735 mm

Leapmotor_B10_exterior_02.thumb.png.a2eebfe799ba45068111a25f624394a0.png

It's a little bigger than the MG S5, BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Kona or Cherry/Omoda E5. Best in class wheelbase. Interior space should be roomy.

Leapmotor_B10_exterior_03.thumb.png.b33eca47c426e819fed7bad57ef7123d.png

Ground clearance of 170mm. There’s a 420-litre boot and opens up to 1,700L with the rear seats folded down. Comes with a 25-litre front trunk! MacPherson struts up front, four links out back and flush door handles.

Leapmotor_B10_exterior_06.thumb.png.49961fe07dca372f6473961f2f474289.png

The Leapmotor B10 is built on the new LEAP 3.5 architecture that now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto! Smartphone fans can now rejoice. The high voltage battery is now at 800V which means faster charging. 168kW DC fast charging that can replenish the state of charge from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.

Two LFP battery options are available.

(1) 56.2 kWhr variant: Offers up to 361 km of WLTP range. This is the base trim that comes with 18" wheels. The interior has manual seats without heating and ventilation functions, a 6-speaker sound system, slower 15W USB-C charging and no wireless chargers. No ambient lighting, nor lighted vanity mirrors and fabric upholstery. The second row's HVAC vents, USB charging outlets, and center fold-down armrest are also removed. Comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

(2) 67.1 kWhr variant: Offers up to 434 km of WLTP range. The top spec unit that has the better Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, power-fold (and auto-fold) side mirrors, 64-colour ambient lighting, auto wipers, a power tailgate, leather upholstery, six-way powered and heated/ventilated front seats, 12 speakers and a rear center armrest.

Leapmotor_B10_exterior_04.thumb.png.7772c57ef927c1788278288027877f09.png

All variants get seven airbags, a 360 camera and full ADAS, including AEB (front and rear), ACC and various lane functions. The powertrain comes in the form of a 160kW Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) electric motor that produces 240Nm of torque. Good enough to do the century sprint in 8 seconds with a top speed of 170 km/hr. With RWD, the B10 should have improved ride and handling compared to the C10 (which is Front Wheel Drive).

Leapmotor claims that the B10’s chassis was co-developed with Stellantis to deliver superior handling and comfort. Technical highlights include a newly optimized steering angle algorithm and an integrated braking system to offer a smoother and more energy-efficient driving experience. Will see if this is marketing hype or not once reviews come in.

Leapmotor_B10_interior_01.thumb.png.48a70140e69835dd9d166967444b0302.png

Interior includes an 8.8" drivers display and 14.6" infotainment that has 2.5k resolution.
Leapmotor_B10_interior_02.thumb.png.dc589d018ee8c5850f3faae8eee2c338.png

If the right model is chosen and priced right by Cycle & Carriage in the Cat A territory, it's going to be a sales winner when it arrives here in the shores of Singapore. Will be paying close attention to what's going to be offered across the causeway as the B10 is going to be assembled in Stellantis  Gurun plant in 2026.

seems like this car is centered around all the tech specs. With the push from C&C, this is the new GLA!

The baby brother to the C10, Leapmotor's B10 is going to be released in the land down under next month (November). Review of the B10 by Car Expert Australia is here: https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-reviews/2026-leapmotor-b10-review

The B10 has European ride and handling tuned by Stellantis Fiat and Alfa Romeo engineers. This has resulted in the B10 having sharp and precise steering, while retaining a supple ride.🤙 Sounds just the type of vehicle that I'm looking for. 😃 Still got some software issues to resolve, but it's doable with OTA updates that's being rolled out in the C10.

Two versions are going to be made available in Oz. B10 Style with a smaller 56.2kWh LFP battery and the B10 Design with a larger 67.1kWh LFP battery. Hopefully the Design is coming to Singapore and will have the larger battery capacity to remain competitive.

Speaking of competition, Stellantis/Leapmotor has priced the B10 in Oz as the most affordable EV in SUV class C size. Below the cost of Chery Omoda E5 and MG S5 EV!🤩 Question is if C&C will price the B10 to undercut the Atto2 and Omoda E5 here in Singapore? Fingers crossed...🤞

If they can beat the MGS5 for driving feel, I will be impressed.

Lai we go down tyre kick together.

Pricelist on the C10 has been revealed by Cycle and Carriage (C&C) as shown below.

image.thumb.png.8170daaa066dbaacdcd7223e52683417.png

Looking at $208k in an all cash deal. Factoring in the $8k for avoiding the high interest, long term in house loan. Another $4k to get the guaranteed CoE. Finally another $8k to avoid the low ball trade-in. Looks to be a bit pricey $$$ for a B&B Cat A BEV from China.

Confirmed Cat A vehicle (100kW maximum output of the motor) given in the technical section of the brochure below.

image.thumb.png.11248b2df2090bb1ab61ce7eafb06e01.png

Will be interested in the OMV of the C10 to see how much margin C&C is making. LTA should be providing the October 2025 number in a few weeks. Will do a detailed cost breakdown then.

When I was shopping recently, all the places were willing to still give the trade in rebate even if I didnt trade in my car. I expect the real price to be 192k (or 200 if no loan).

For this size car, I think 192k/200k is competitive.

$208k? Same price as the MGS5 before any discount?

Comparison on size of MG S5, BYD Atto3, Leapmotor C10 and Telsa Model Y is below. All in Cat A territory.

image.thumb.png.23640945cf94043797d7d86837cbd9d4.png

image.thumb.png.e4bca64c974c458156079cc2996574f1.png

Due to the added height, the C10 will feel more roomier on the inside. The second row seats are also set further back, providing more leg room - almost D segment vehicle space. The compromise is a smaller boot space at the back.

Need to sit in the C10 to compare against other rides.
