Some brands like Skyworth and HiPhi are not even in the chart. They really have over 100 brands in China.

Yang Wang is all over the international car news because they just hit 496kph and lap the 'Ring under 6 minutes.

Ahhh...now the name rings a bell

But I wouldn't classify a 1300bhp car under 'luxury'....lol

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1131069_ssc-tuatara-sets-land-speed-record-for-production-cars-at-282-9-mph

"Headed Northbound at 2:38 pm local time, the SSC Tuatara hit 279.7 mph. Headed southbound at 3:28 pm, the Tuatara hit 286.1 mph. The two runs averaged out to a two-way speed of 282.9 mph, which bested the previous record of 277.9 mph set by the Koenigsegg Agera RS in 2017."

Which // universe your math teacher came from?

282mph is faster than 304mph and 308mph?

Sometimes information gets outdated.

You just have to stand corrected rather than insisting you're Gosepl

1st and foremore, read properly "Fastest production car is still SSC Tuatara"

YangWang did not qualify as this is NOT a production car.

Moreover, it only do 1 run.

Tuatara planned only to make only 100 in 5 years,

Who knows if it was achieved;

whereas U9 produced 88 units in 2024 alone.

Actually alot of different standards and controversies in such record 1 la.

Accordingly to AI and google it qualify as a production car. I think that is quite standard.

As for the fastest speed. Depend on how ppl see it.

Some require multiple run. Some require 2 run in opposite direction.

U9 did only 1 run in 1 direction. The result are there. Why they didn't do more runs? Or in opposite direction? I think it didnt even cross their mind.

I guess maybe they not out to show every 1 they  are the fastest. The result are there. Alot of journalists are doing live recording.

Its like does our food have to get michelin 3 stars to be the best food.?

This is perfectly reasonable.

As there is no common standard, it is perfectly reasonable to have different cars holding this title, with some variations.

I wonder why SSC Tuatara was mentioned in the first place

Just to add, the U9 which is 1000+ hp, 88 units in 24.

The one which hit 496kph (and was still accelerating) is the U9 Extreme which is 2900+ hp. They say will only produce 30 units.

No RHD but if register in SG, the road tax will also be world record.
