From the pics it seems that maybe a Matrix is even more spacious! Ha! But wow, nice power from the car. A little bit dated looks liao hor? Just my personal opinions...

The Volvos of today are kinda like subtle aggressive in the design. Hard edges blended into a streamline body so at the end of the day still an unique breed of it's own [thumbsup] ....except the Ford ownership part [thumbsdown]

I need to get this straightened out.

I can't get over this. Everytime someone mentions Ford, I think of it something as British. So is Ford more British or American? [dizzy]

Henry Ford was American. But the company FoMoCo is truly global, in the sense that it has an autonomous European arm, with its own R&D, production and costing. That's why you find European Fords to be completely unlike American ones, from conceptualization onwards. The few that have tried to appeal to both sides (Mondeo MkI for example) have not done well. Even the Focus MkII will not see light of day in the US, they prefer to use a facelifted version of MkI.

Essentially the two regions have very different tastes and needs. The US likes large cars with large overhangs and large engines. Handling and refinement is secondary, and so is interior quality - space and cupholders are king. The European designs are more efficient and frankly, advanced. Good mix of materials, attention to passive and active safety, as well as FC.

What we get here currently are the European Fords, and so sometimes you'll see pp referring to them under conti... very confusing I know.

Btw, Ford's European HQ is in Germany, not UK.
