Yesterday happened to see the Mother's Sealer and Glaze product, bought it and gave it a try. For comparing seek, I polish half of my bonnet to remove existing wax, washed, appled Mother's S&G to the half portion. Wait for haze then buffed off. Pretty easy to apply and remove, no patchy problem. Then applied Authentic Wax to the whole bonnet with QD. After buffing out the wax, I tends to notice that the portion treated with Mother's S&G seems to be more even in term of colour tone whereas the untreated side still can see the patchy problems.

 

As I have mentioned before the result in terms of shine and wettness is almost identical for Authentic wax and Fusso 12 month paste wax, so I am wondering if anyone out here will like to take over my Fusso 12 month paste wax for $15/- ? I only used it twice to apply to my bonnet so it is still considered pretty "unused". Just let me know should any of the brothers here is interested.

i just got meself fusso99 claybar (green) at $14 (yes i know i was chopped) from autoacc in paya lebar.

wanted to get fusso 9 months but it was sold out, asked and the guy said it will come this wednesday

am now thinking of using hi-glaze88 instead.

Actually I would think that the side with the glaze would look much better too. Anyway I was reading up on sealants and I learnt that sealants cant bond properly to paints that have been polished full of oils. The 3M has lots of polishing oils and this might explain the patches. No explanation for the AUthentic though, it should love oils!

 

Anyway no point selling lah.. keep the fusso for wet weather!

V200 thanks for your offer, but I already have 1 Authentic Gold and it seems like it will last me a long long time. So not so practical to have 2 of it.

 

Anyway, yesterday I just did my car again on the bonnet, top and the boot area. Washed, Mother's S&G than followed by Authentic Gold. This time the smeary areas has reduced quite a lot and in fact I did not notice any smeary problem on the top and boot area. The only different I notice is when I apply the wax, the bonnet was slightly warm as compare to the top and boot area which are totally cool. So it might be a good advice to apply wax to a totally COOL car.

oh yeah,if the 3M polish leaves an oily base (just like Meg #80), then topping with sealant's wasteful only, as it won't bond to the paint.

For me, I used the 3M FI2 polish. After polishing you actually cannot see or feel any oil residue on the car. In fact the car felt very clean, almost as clean as a piece of glass. So I am not really sure about the oily issue. Anyway as I mentioned, to aviod having any wax or oil residue, I washed my car again after the polish.

I'm also having the patchy problems with the liquid fusso 12 month.

 

If I use 3M FI2, will it remove the fusso 12month? Do I still need to use mama lemon to wash after that and will this hurt the clear coat protection?

Hi Blizzard88,

 

Sorry to hear that you are also facing the smeary problem. If you use 3M FI2 you should be able to remove the patchy problem and to ensure not to have any residue remaining you can wash your car with mama lemon (but not too often). But after your wash you must apply a layer of wax to your car because 3M FI2 will remove all your existing wax or sealent.

 

I am still experimenting with the fusso wax and from what I observed you should take note of the following factors before you apply the fusso wax.

 

1) Make sure your car is not in direct sunlight.

2) Make sure your car is completely COOL down.

3) Apply the wax in a THIN coat.

4) When you buff off the wax make sure the is enough sunlight to see whether you have buffed off evenly. Sometime I do in the shade but when in the sun you see those patchy problem more obvious.

 

If you try all the above and still have the patchy problems, I suggest you wash your car with a car shampo and I think it should improve the situation.

What is Mother's S&G? Those normal car shampoo? Is it sufficient to remove all the oily residue?

Sorry, when you washed your car, did you use the Fusso 12months again or is the smeary effect reduced after washing without application?

Mother's S&G is supposed to be used after you have clean up your car with a polish or pre wax clearner. It is supposed to give your car a deeper, glossier and wetter look if used before a finishing wax. It also helps to hide minor scratches and swirl marks. For me, it seems it does help to achieve a better finish with the finishing wax. At least help to reduce smeary problem for my case.

 

As to reduce smeary problem, by washing your car with normal (w/o wax) car shampo should do the job. This advice was given to me by some professional in other detailing forum. You don reappy the Fusso 12 month again. Maybe you can wash your car the next day so as not to affect the bonding issue of the wax. Or you can leave it alone, wait a few days for the excess oil to evaporate than the condition should improve by itself.

Im aware that claybars are supposed to remove surface grimes n impurities, but has any1 used e claybar and felt that the the previous layers of wax are removed?

I have 5 layers of Z2 pro thus far.
