Silver_blade Turbocharged February 12, 2005 Share February 12, 2005 How long does the wax (shine) generally last before another application is needed? ↡ Advertisement
Leonknapp Clutched February 13, 2005 Author Share February 13, 2005 (edited) bro this not authentic premium lah.. this is fusso coat which is a polymer sealant. so that why must dry completely. for Authetic Premium carnuba was if u let it dry completely u will beff until siao! yah buff off with a goof microfiber cloth. Cheers! Hi. I tried letting the 12months sealant dry. After buffing, can see different colour tones. My car body is cool not warm. Needed to apply another layer and immediately wipe off to remove these different shades. Don't know why keep getting different shades. Is yours the paste version? Like the authentic wax? No problem buffing? No different shades? if so, maybe I will change to that. How much did you get yours? Mine is liquid base with 2 of those applicators. One thing I noticed. After some washes, the smooth feeling is no longer there. But the water still beads! Is it supposed to be that way? I thought it was supposed to remain smooth for the water to bead? I used the paste version with no problems. One tip, before waxing a panel spray some quick detailer on the applicator. This will help spread the fusso properly. This really made application alot easier for me and allowed me to get thinner coats thus less buffing. Also, no wax or sealant I have ever used will remain smooth after the first wash. But dont worry protection is there. Edited February 13, 2005 by Leonknapp
Leonknapp Clutched February 13, 2005 Author Share February 13, 2005 Hi Gen 2, Authetic is a higher end product compared to fusso. Ur mistake is applying the sealant onto the Authentic. Sealant only bonds to paint not carnuba wax. Ur problems are due to bonding problems. Trust me ur fusso will be gone after the first wash as it wont stick to your wax base. Ur results only look identical cause of ur authentic base. Fusso 12 has no cleaing abilities and so is just a clear sealant and will not remove any wax below it. I have both Authentic Premium and Fusso 12. I usually use Authentic during summer like weather like these few weeks and fusso during monsoon season. Leonknapp Clutched February 13, 2005 Author Share February 13, 2005 Authentic? I think so. When I added a 2nd coat of it the next day I could see that the reflections were much more smoother and sharper.
Gen2 Neutral Newbie February 13, 2005 Share February 13, 2005 Hi Leon, Maybe I did not make myself very clear in my massage. Before I put on the Fusso 12 month paste wax, I polished my car first with 3M FI2 to remove existing wax or sealent. After polishing the car I even wash the bonnet with dish washing detergent to make sure all wax is gone before the application of Fusso 12 month. So the issue regarding bonding should not be there and that is exactly what makes me wonder why the patchy problem appeared. And by the way which detailer are you using ? If I am not wrong most of the detailers claimed they have cleaning property, does that mean they contain any chemical cleaner. So by maxing detailer with wax will it affects the wax being applied. Leonknapp Clutched February 13, 2005 Author Share February 13, 2005 Hi Gen, I see.. sorry for the mistake.. Wow I didnt expect that anyone would go through so much effort again so soon after waxing their car. Anyway theoratically ur authentic should be all gone after the polish stage. So bonding should not be an issue.. well for me I used the paste without this problem.. Ok I suggest spraying some quick detailer on the applicator before waxing a panel. This will help spread the fusso better and makes it easier to apply thinner coats. If this wont work Im stumped! FOr QD I am now using the Black Magic QD. Previously was Meguiars Quick Detailer and Eagleone Wipe and Shine. All are great but I feel the best is the Eagleone. Anyway the cleaning ability of the QD is almost non existant to me. They only seem to clean because of they are very good lubricants and their liquid form helps to soften and stuff like bird droppings which makes it easier to remove. So actually its the cloth or tissue that u use that does the cleaning. So by using a QD on ur wax applicator it enables the wax to be applied much easier. In fact I learnt to use the QD from many auto detailing websites so I think it wont affect the wax. Cheers!

By the way, what is a detailer? What are it's uses? Sorry, not very familiar with the detailer.
V200 Neutral Newbie February 14, 2005 Share February 14, 2005 Hi there. I am a new member here. After reading through this thread, I decided to pick up some Soft99 product to test it out. By the way I have tried quite a number of products already like, Zymol cleaner wax, Zaino Z2, Polyglaze, HI-Glaze 88 and 3M. For a start, I bought the Authentic Gold paste wax(AGPW). Wash my car, prepared the surface with some 3M polish than applied the AGPW. Waited for around 8 minutes for the wax to haze then buff off. The result pretty good, shiny and wet. So far the wettest look compared to the rest of the products I had used before. After a few days I thought why not try out the sealant. Than I got my fusso 12 months paste wax. This time I decided to try out only the front part of my car. Washed, polished than waxed. The result is just as good as the AGPW but I do notice the different shades (patchy) on the bonnet like brother V200. Tried applying the wax in a vertical method then buffed off, the problem got worse. By the way I only apply a thin layer of wax. So can anyone who is well versed with Soft99 products can share some light on this issue. If this patchy problem cannot be solved than my advise to our dear brothers here is to use the Authentic range of product instead of the Fusso range since the result is almost identical. Hi there. So you got the paste wax version for the fusso 12 months? And you still have the patchy problems? Well, if you happen to try bro Leonknapp's advice, let us know the results ok? Curious to know if there will still be patchy problems. Mine is the liquid version, so I hope this works on the liquid version as well.
Leonknapp Clutched February 14, 2005 Author Share February 14, 2005 Try to apply thinner coats and use a quick detailer as a lubricant on the applicator.

Gen2 Neutral Newbie February 14, 2005 Share February 14, 2005 No problem at all for the misunderstanding bro Leon, maybe I can try using the QD like what you mentioned. How often you spary QD to your applicator when you apply the wax? I currently have QD from Mother's and Zaino, wondering which will be a better choice to go along with the wax? As for bro V200, until I try out the new technic than I can give you a feedback (but not so soon, busy lately).
Steelblue Neutral Newbie February 14, 2005 Share February 14, 2005 Hmm could it be that you bought a bad batch>?? Should be OK if you don't wax in the evening
Leonknapp Clutched February 14, 2005 Author Share February 14, 2005 I spray once before waxing a panel. For bonnet and roof one spray to cover half. ↡ Advertisement
