Oic..As wat I've guessed, clearing stock. Well, I do like the radio controls on the steering wheel..I guess the FL Optra is 1 of the few 1.6L cars fitted with radio control buttons on the steering. 2 my knowledge, Mz3 is the only Jap 1.6L car fitted with the radio control feature on the steering wheel.

Bt I guess the 3K less is more appealing as I feel so oso [:p] Heee..Well, guess it juz boils down 2 individual preferences.

Cheers.

Welcome to the Chevy family. I am almost 3 mths old and am a satisfied owner. ONLY problem, with today's high petrol cost, it burnt a slightly bigger hole in my pocket but it is part of the deal! [laugh]

You've made the right choice, Sleepengine. I was extremely worried while I was reading this forum because I was afraid you would end up buying an Altis.

Chevrolet Optra is the best value-for-money car in the 1.6L Auto sedan market. In terms of horsepower and acceleration, it only loses out to Honda Civic in the same league. But the Civic costs about $10k more. So you can zoom past a Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sunny, Kia Cerato, Hyundai Elantra, Mazda 3 and Subaru Impreza when the traffic light turns green.

Tink u need rephrase abit, impossible to win corolla(G9). And oso Sunny coz it has a gd low torque, high torque Optra win I will agree. Only bad abt Optra is aftermarket parts not as cheap as Jap cars and High FC make u cry! [sweatdrop]

Of course impossible to win Corolla(G9). I meant in the same league - Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6L Auto Sedan. We compare oranges with oranges and not apples with oranges.

By the way, I've test-compared with my friend's Nissan Sunny EX Saloon 1.6L Auto. Both of us accelerated from 0 to 100km/h at the turn of traffic light. The Sunny was a clear loser.

I tried with Lancer, Laser, Megane and Waja as well - Optra won all, it only lost out to Civic.

no, not the new facelift.

got the one tat was on promo so i got more cash to do anything i wan with it later.

gonna need more advise from you guys later on when i get my ride...

Hi Sleepengine, I'm new here, I also book an old stock Optra yesterday, same as your SE mention they are trying to clear they off, so price is attractive, I was considering between Aveo and Toyota Vios, by this offer got my attention and take it due to the price similer to the Aveo. BTY how much is your Optra that offer? And what colour did you select?

My offer given was Auto: $52,988 (Standard version); Manual: $49988 (Standard version), only thing is no much colour to choose from. I end up choose the Auto one. Thou a bit worries about FC for a auto Optra. Anyone can give commence between Auto and Manual Optra?

depends on wat mod u hav in mind, Chevyron... feel rather "cash short" lately...

btw, when i collect my car the other day, i asked my SE if i have to keep to a specific speed limit or rev during the 1K period and he said just to keep within 100km/h.

is that all i have to do... doesn't feel very rite leh...

Hi Sleepengine... no worries... i am quite tied myself also...

a few things planned for my chevy in the next few months will be: -

1. to do the anti-rust for under the car

2. the paint protection for the car body

3. the window films to cut out the heat.

I was thinking these are the basics i need to put in a least to keep the car in shape from the start and later the rest of the MODS (poison) can come in...

from advise that i got... we are NOT suppose to rav more than 2k on the rpm for the first 1k period for the run-in
