The rotary is not a 1.3L

Hi, i disagree with u on this point. on normal cylinder engine, u calculate the cc based on the volume in the cylinder. in the rotory, it is the same as the injection volume is 652cc and with 2 rotors it has to be a 652 x 2 or 1304 cc engine. however shape the engine may be, this is the volume for the fuel injection when the rotor open it's compartment to the max, so it has to be a 1.3L. please correct me if i am wrong [sweatdrop]

You need to rev till Kingdom Come for the torque to climb

again, i think this is not right, i have seen the renesis torque curve somewhere before, it is very flat. means the 200+Nm is actually available at most of the engine speed. but i could be wrong though [sweatdrop]

That is way to calculate regarding the expulsion of exhaust but it is not a true measure of the displacement.

I have tried the Renesis. I really need to drive it like a race car. Vooooom Vooooom Voooom. Maybe my driving style is pedal to the metal type.

I still prefer the old RX-7 twin turbo. Especially the style of the FD.

i always tot port and polish will give you more horses, but at the expense of higher fuel consumption. Is it possible then that u can get more horses but better fuel efficiency as well? [jawdrop]

True. Because you have increased VE. Remember that you are filling those cylinders with more air than before. You need to achieve the proper ratio of fuel. Most PnP heads actually feel lighter on the pedal.

You can PnP FI engines but it is not cost effective. Just raise boost pressure. Viola, your "PnP" is done.

then what is the true displacement of rotary ler? [dizzy]

if u are used to 2.5L alfa and above, u are bound to find lack in torque la [laugh]

but whatever car it is, i believe u'll always drive pedal to metal only [:p][laugh]

Especially the style of the FD.

yea, best styling in RX series, the twin turbo effini [inlove]

Seriously, Rotary is a different engine that you cannot use conventional methods to calculate diaplcement like reciprocating piston engines.

I don't know, but the method that they calculate is not the true idea.

1.3L that has a power of a 2.5L and drinks petrol like a 3.5L?

Does not make sense.

ya the FC is terrible. but heard the new renesis is getting better FC compared to the RX7 ones rite? [thumbsup]

RX7 FD or FC is turbocharged. FC is always bad

oh ya no wonder RX8 has got better FC coz it's not TC'ed [sweatdrop]

but don't u think it's amazing as a NA renesis can push out similar horses to TC'ed FD though torque is not as good though [gossip]

so that means PnP confirm your FC will decrease la? cos need more fuel to go with the air.

All the while we have been trying to tell everyone that this is an energy equation. The fuel need the air to burn. More air means more fuel. More fuel means more air. Therefore, more power means more fuel and more air. Cannot escape from this fundamental truth. You must pay for power.

Have u heard of any performance car that is having fuel efficiency?

well, it's simple as that.

cheers.
