My suggestion is to look for a good mech & stick to him. All agents r giving real shi*ty work nowadays. I wonder if the w/shops at the parallel importers r any better???

 

Used to b bad but now it's seems worse.

 

Prob one of the reasons I don't want to get a new car.

I suspect they did not even bother to open up your car. I think think it came back to you the same condition it came in.

well, the coil in the dashboard?? maybe no ba...

 

the compressor was changed and the bill added to $2600 le.....can see the compressor looks new in the engine bay....

How much is Markool charging for servicing of W211 E200K? May consider them if they're good.

I'm not sure about his charges for merc compressors.

 

I think it's best u go see them & he can quote direct. He sud also b able to diagnose what problems your a/c system is having.

They speclize in ac but as a favour, the foreman changed my alternator for me once when I replaced the compressor. Even the alternator cost less than what other w/shops quoted me.

He re-cond my Alfa 156 compressor, which would cost $2.5k to replace.

The cost to recond is approx $500-600, assuming he can find a compatible compressor.

Now my aircon works ...damn cold.

BTW the shop name is Motoaire. It's the one facing the open field at Sin Ming, the first row amongst the many rows. The unit number is 88. Look for Ah Zhuan

Looks like many of our mechnics will have to retire at a very young age.If the agent with all the diagnotic tools cannot even pin point the source of problem for this simple task, something much a very wrong.

A sad but true fact is that with all the modern diagonistic equip the agents have, nothing replaces a good, experienced mechanic.

 

The modern equip makes the mech's job of diagonising the fault easier, but knowing the poor level of the mechs they now use, only God can help those owners of new cars when they go to the agents.

yah....a computerised car makes diagnos of fault easier, but when the circuit board is at fault....it would cost too much to replace it. another point is we have to go back to agents as they are the only people who haf the equipment.

That's why the agents now can charge sooooo much for a simple service. They know most pple have no choice but to use their w/shop out of fear that outside w/s cannot handle the new electronics.

 

I think the profit from the maintenance & service earns more $$$ for them now, then the actual sale of the car itself.

 

I drive an older car & am spoilt for choice as to the w/shops I can use. If one no good, just change to another. Of course must b a good mechanic first. They can't hold me by the balls.

and the sensor spoil easily....so haf to go back..we dun haf a choice...

Has anybody got it from the agents in BLACK & WHITE that they will void your warranty if u use a workshop other than theirs?????

I think it is illegal to do it as the manufacturer gives the required type of maintenance in the owners manual & as long as u follow that & keep your receipts & records well, the warranty sud still stand.

 

I don't think any agent has given that threat in writing yet. Maybe they just spread the rumor to frighten pple to use them but know thay cannot enforce it. I know of pple who use outside w/shops but still get the repairs covered in the warranty done at the agents without any hassle.

C&C says guarantee ur warranty by servicing at C&C..

 

 

it do says at the owner manual saying that without proper servicing by the agent, thus the car break down..thus they are not gonna warranty for u...

 

my previous ride was a 1.5 auto sunny...this car alternator and sensor is bound to spoil easily..and becos i din service at agent, they claim the parts were not checked and thus it broke down.....lan lan pay $$ lo...
